A very big WikiLeak

A big build-up. The cooperation of 25 worldwide media outlets. The hacking skills of Anonymous. A dramatic (and humorous) countdown. An announcement at midnight (GMT) and five million emails revealing how “private” intelligence service Stratfor and governments (not to mention Big Money and Big Media) work cooperate collude together.

I don’t know how significant this is going to be, but if the reality matches the build-up (a build-up that showed Twitter is definitely good for something besides timely Oscar buzz), big.

ADDED: And Anonymous has an announcement (semi-related) coming up in a few hours.

Standard Mischief (dot) com — From your link comes language and self-delusion worthy of government. 🙂 Sez the Stratfor CEO as he rushes out the door: “Regarding the latest breach, Stratfor is fully in control of the situation However, while I cannot take any personal responsibility for this incident, I still have to admit that mistakes have been made on our side.”

Fully in control! Mistakes have been made! Yep … they’re on the run.

I should have seen that coming. Looks like something fake designed to increase the “buzz” of the story.

Still I’m surprised about pastebin. At one point the owner supposedly pulled down the site because people were posting credit cards, passwords, etc. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastebin). Yet I look at the “trending pastes” and it seems like no one is even trying to police the content. I wonder what’s up with that?
