Tamarlan Tsarnaev: “victim of gun violence”

Oh man, the Bloomy crowd is bloomin’ mad.

This morning I linked to a story about a “big” control rally sponsored by Obama’s anti group. A whole three people showed up.

Well, Billionaire Bloomy has done the Big O one better: At a rally today in New Hampshire, his folks named murderer Tamarlan Tsarnaev as a poor, pathetic victim of EEEEEvil “gun violence.”

An apology was duly issued of course. But damage done.*

Man, for all their bux and power, these people are fumbling, bumbling boobs. Scary fumbling, bumbling boobs. But still …

* Be sure to read all the way to the end of that article. Yet another peasant has been arrested for daring to touch one of Our Masters.

So far as Bloomy being blooming mad goes… As a instructor once told me “It is always better to be pissed off than pissed on.”

Reading that apology article was truly a laugh-out-loud moment for me.

    Thanks, Claire, I needed that.

Give ’em time. They’ll get better. Never dismiss an enemy that is that well funded. Never.

Shouldn’t Bloomberg’s group be protesting those Syrian Rebels who are using illegal arms againsth their duly elected government? I would guess that more than one or two mayors in Syria have been killed by them.

As I posted to FB (Booo! Hisss!):

Wonder if there will also be a retraction over the inclusion (https://twitter.com/GunDeaths/status/314718341224861696 is the tweet, http://t.co/O2n49nYZd1 is the spreadsheet, 5208 is the victim number) of Sammie Lamont Wallace, the guy who was shot by police while holding a *knife* to the throat of a two-year-old in a Wal Mart in OK?

…Or for Recardio Shormon Clark (victim 5674, http://www.gainesville.com/article/20130616/ARTICLES/130619708/1139?Title=Man-killed-vest-saves-deputy-in-shooting-incident) who was shot after allegedly shooting a deputy?

…Or for Eliakim Tipan Shabazz (victim 5730, http://www.wltx.com/news/crimestoppers/article/239778/28/Police-Officer-Shoots-Kills-Suspect-) who was shot by police while allegedly threatening another man?

…Or for Mustafa Sheffield (victim 5730, http://www.nj.com/essex/index.ssf/2013/06/prosecutors_identify_robber_shot_and_killed_by_newark_store_owner.html), who was killed by a citizen with a “legally registered firearm” while allegedly attempting a robbery?

The past couple of weeks have been rough, mentally. It’s that constant barrage of bad news combined with an extreme increase in discontent that isn’t fully matched by some people around me that I care about.

Claire, I’m relying on you for some levity here. I think a puppy post is in order.

Mike — Wow, did you do the research to find those “poor victims” yourself? Wonder how many other “interesting” names people will find on the victims’ list?

Puppy post: I hear you and will be in search of adorableness very soon.

I did, but only in that I fact-checked the Slate-provided link that Bloomberg scooped. For the record, Tsarnaev is record # 3771.

There are literally hundreds more examples there, some with names, some without. It is an excellent illustration of the tactics that are being used to push more laws that will imprison more people like me, and it literally makes me sick to my stomach that I have friends and family that both buy into the hysteria, and can’t be bothered to care when presented with the info directly.

Sorry for the multiple, multiple posts…

The first link in my first post today was to the tweet from Slate. Slate was the stated source of Bloomberg’s “research,” of which his spokeshultz stated “ve know knaathing!”

The second link is to the download of their CSV spreadsheet, which opens nicely in MS Office, but requires some tweaking in order to open in Open Office. That’s where the “good stuff” is.

    Mike,

as to levity in form of a puppy post: Try http://www.underwaterdogs.com
or look up “Underwater Dogs” on your favorite search engine.

    Get ready to laugh!

Sorry, Claire, not trying to steal your show; just a suggestion 🙂

Barry O and Mikey B are hilarious (if rich, powerful, and angry) anti-liberty bigots. I guess it’s better to have clowns like that declare themselves to be my enemy than people I could take seriously.

    Kent — Great post!

Kyle — You (and Seth Casteel, the original underwater dog guy) can steal my show any time. I have an underwater-dogs calendar (Christmas gift from a blogista 🙂 ). AND better yet, aside from those photos being wonderful, Casteel has a sideline of helping shelters and rescue groups take more appealing photos of their animals. One of the board members of our local rescue org. is a terrific photographer who joined us because Casteel inspired her.

Oh — and looks like your link goes to yet another underwater dog photog. Kewl.

    The apology has been removed.

I guess it didn’t mean anything anyway. Like I’m sorry I had to say I’m sorry.

It’s a mad, mad, mad, mad, world.

And it’s gonna be, until we start ignoring it and doing what we need to do: scoop the cat box, pull the weeds, make some widgets and sell them… and tell the stupid people they’re stupid and here’s why… and tell people with stupid ideas NO.

Actually, this is quite consistent with gun prohibitionist tactics. These groups *always* include legitimate police and self-defense shootings in their “gun death” tallies, to inflate the numbers. There is nothing new here, except that this time they were caught at it, probably because Tamerlan Tsarnaev is not a very ordinary name.

I wonder if that list includes any of the innocent children and adults murdered by cops all over the country. Probably not.

And yes, I’m ready for puppy cuteness. Got a big knuckle bone this morning for Laddie and I’m not sure I’ll get him to come back in the house any time soon. But each time I call him, he gives me the goofy Corgi grin from ear to ear.

    Got to get a picture.

Some laws just beg to be broken.

And yeah, gun prohibitionist tallies DO include people murdered by cops. But that is less striking if you think about it. What’s wierd is that their list includes people who should be shot, such that without guns you would actually have these people still committing mayhem.

But now that I think of it, that’s the whole gun control story isn’t it? They see no utility with guns whatever, or imagine that the only people who get utility from them are criminals.

Tamarlan Tsarnaev a victim of gun violence, ‘course not. But a victim of police violence? More likely, I’d say.

And why ever would one call Tamarlan Tsarnaev a murderer? What evidence?

  19. Claire
    Claire June 23, 2013 2:21 pm

Um … photographic and physical evidence, a description by a victim, plus his brother’s confession?

Now that friend of his down in Florida, different matter.

Thanks Claire, was curious how it looked to you or other readers here. I don’t necessarily see as many points of agreement with the official story as you list, but who knows.
