Amazon Prime Day begins this evening

Amazon Prime Day is officially tomorrow, But it actually begins at 6:00 PDT/ 9:00 EDT today.

What’s Prime Day? It’s an enormous special-deal event like Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but in summer. Lots of specials for 30 hours, beginning this evening and running all through Tuesday, July 11.

This is for Amazon Prime members only. But. If you’re not a member, read on.

Amazon Prime is an excellent service, with everything from (most famously) free two-day shipping to free streaming movies (and Amazon TV series) to a low-cost grocery service (Prime Pantry) to music … to about a dozen other things.

The GOOD news is that you don’t already have to be a Prime member to take advantage of Prime Day. Nor do you have to pay for Prime membership unless you want to. Just use this link to sign up for a 30-day free trial of Prime. Don’t like the service or don’t want to continue it? Cancel before the 30 days are up.

Then use any of my Amazon links to shop, of course. 🙂

UPDATE: This link will take you directly to the Prime Day deals page, where you can explore what’s available.

And whether or not you want to shop on Prime Day, here’s a nice little look at the dogs of Amazon.

    Claire,

Do I have to do anything to get these special deals, or are discounted prices shown after the regular price?

    Thanks,

    Bob

Good question, Bob. And I don’t know the answer. I missed Prime Day last year when it was new.

But here’s Amazon’s “insider’s guide” to Prime Day, which should answer most questions:

    https://www.amazon.com/b/ref=sd_allcat/ref=s9_acss_bw_cg_PD17104_1a1_w?ie=UTF8&node=16926415011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-4&pf_rd_r=JNASMMDHKRFFEB2XNNGM&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=9483db81-aaa1-4014-a7cf-7d7528e6499a&pf_rd_i=13887280011

BTW, that is NOT a blog Associates link. Just an info link. If you enter Amazon using my main link you should find a big Prime Day banner that’ll take you wherever you want to go in PD deals.

I just figured out that this link (above) will take you directly to the Prime Day page with a credit to me. That should simplify things.

You can ignore my previous comment unless you really want to get into apps that will tell you about deals & such.

Maybe a little overstatement in C|Net’s headline, but some of this is funny. C|Net prime day stuff. I suppose if I had a big backyard pool, I might want the duck.
