VIENNA — Some of the world’s top AIDS experts issued a radical manifesto this week at the 18th International AIDS Conference: They declared the war on drugs a 50-year-old failure and called for it to be abandoned.

Hmmm, I didn’t know that had an international aids conference every year.
The War on Drugs has been very good for the government, the drug cartels, the drug dealers, the drug producers, the prison industry, local law enforcement (money and property seized), the treatment industry, the media, etc. What’s not to love about it?
Try to forget about the lives ruined by extreme sentences for minimal violations, the civil rights trampled, the private property seized, the various and sundry people killed and families destroyed by raids and seizures gone bad.
Guess that is an awful lot to forget, but the Drug industries sure seem to have more reasons to keep them illegal than the Freedomistas do for legalization.
