- Don’t say I never post anything nice about cops.
- Seeking a job isn’t supposed to be a crime. So why should it make you a criminal suspect?
- Willie Nelson’s new pot brand gets private equity funding. 🙂
- Speaking of cannabis … slowly, slowly even politicians are beginning to see the real effects of drug bans.
- Selfies: deadlier than sharks.
- Why are Muslims allowed to do what Christians are not?
- Ha ha. And Mark Zuckerberg thought $100 million would change the government school system in just one city. Oh well, he’s young. He might still learn.
- Another big “surprise.” Kids are pitching their government-mandated fruit straight into the trash.
“Don’t say I never post anything nice about cops. ”
🙂
Only twelve Darwin awards via “selfie” – in the world? How is that significant? I’d say “good riddance” myself. sigh…
The “nice cop”: It’s so wonderful that government bullies are paid enough stolen money they can afford to do such nice things for their victims. I don’t have a government “job”, so if I did this it would only be by taking things from my daughter to afford it.
Why are Muslims allowed to do things Christians are not? Because they are the Favored Idiot Children of the Week. For whatever reason, about 50% of the government extremists have decided to bend over backward to coddle them. That means treating them as though they can’t help themselves, can’t be held accountable, and have fragile feelings. Every few years a new poster child is chosen and gets this privilege- to the irritation of everyone who expects people to all be treated equally (by the government bullies). And to the envy of all those who can’t wait til it’s their turn in the special nursery. And to the raging hatred of those who lost their spot.
Kent — I thought I was cynical, but your cynicism outstrips mine by miles.
It was a great act by that deputy and something not many people — no matter the source of their paychecks — would have done. Credit where credit is due.
But Elizabeth Glaser, director of Mayor de Blasio’s criminal justice office, said the mayor disagrees. “We still think there are adverse consequences for drug use,” she said. “Decriminalizing marijuana entirely, the sale, the possession with intent to sell, is not something that the administration supports.”
No surprise there. NYC is where they wanted to ban medium soft drinks.
Any Xian business would be free to refuse to sell to people they don’t know, if the Muslim business had refused to sell to a Xian because they were Xian, that would have been a crime, in some (but not all) states it would also be a crime not to sell to Gay person because they were Gay.
If you think about that FBI program to keep fingerprints, it makes sense – given that one accepts there should be an FBI (or cops in general) at all. This kind of activity logically follows from the initial supposition. There is no logical stopping point with this line of thought.
I responded to that article about Muslim businesses with this:
“Muslim businesses can do what Christian businesses can’t because going after Muslims is whacking a hornet’s nest. I write this in admiration of Muslims, not in disapproval. Christians need to man up and not put up with thuggish government behavior. At the same time Christians should abandon the tactic of using government to impose on others (e.g. defining marriage). Both of these items are part of the same package, cohabitation with government. Sleep with dogs, don’t be surprised when you wake up with fleas.”
About that nice cop, the story did mention that he did not tell anyone about his act. Like Claire says, credit where credit is due.
I sent this link to the author of that Zuckerberg article, suggesting she pass it onto him:

[A new study shows that kids toss their apples into the trash before they even take a place at a table.]
Whenever I read stories like this, it improves my view of the human race. Thank heaven for those kids. 🙂
The apples and other fresh fruit in school lunches is often of poor quality or not ripened enough to eat. A tasteless GMO’d apple that is to hard for kids with loose or missing teeth and braces etc to bite into goes into the trash. That hasn’t changed since I and my kids were eating school lunches, regardless of who paid for them. Same with green bannanas, rock hard pears etc.
