More on Susan

People have been asking about memorial services, sending flowers, and other actions to honor MamaLiberty’s memory.

Susan’s sister Sandra has been kind enough to give me some information. There will be no service. Susan will be cremated and her ashes scattered. There’s no good place to send flowers, but there are plenty of other ways to honor ML.

Sandra writes, “Her friends are welcome to hold whatever [memorial service] they would like to; I know she would appreciate it. Go to the gun range and shoot some rounds in her memory. LOL LOL.”

Yeah, Susan would definitely appreciate us going out and improving our marksmanship and/or making joyful freedom noises in her name.

Tom Knapp suggested that we make donations in Susan’s name to the freedom organizations of our choice.

A few that come to mind:

Rational Review News Digest (Susan was a daily reader)

Gun Owners of America

The Zelman Partisans

Your local hardcore gun-rights group

The Electronic Frontier Foundation

Susan also loved flowers, herbs, and gardening in general. So planting a tree or small garden in her memory would be appropriate. Or maybe placing a small statue or plaque in special spot.

And for anybody wondering about ML’s beloved corgi, Laddie: He’s in good hands with two young men who were already friends of his before Susan died. And there’s also a Plan B, just in case.

For now, that’s all I know.

I was wondering about her corgi, so that news is a relief.

Did she have a favorite fruit, vegetable, or flower? I’d like to name one of my plant-breeding projects after her.

What a great thing to do, ellendra.

This probably won’t help — but Susan raised several varieties of orchids in the bathroom of her log cabin. On the more practical side, she grew (that I know of) chamomile, lemongrass, lemon eucalyptus, dill, oregano, sage, and thyme.

I’ll be interested to hear what you choose to do with your idea.
