That’s the answer.
The question (asked on X by a podcaster and conveyed to me by Bill St. Clair) was, “Is Claire Wolfe still alive?”
Bill told the inquirer that I was not only alive but still operating and posting on The Living Freedom Forums. Then he politely suggested to me that I should inform the wider world.
So here’s “proof of life,” as Bill put it, and I hope to remain among the living for a long time to come. Since I’m here to announce the (hopefully) welcome news, I’ll take the opportunity to ramble a bit.

The “Is so-and-so still alive?” question seems to haunt the freedomista Internet. How many times have you wondered that about somebody? Maybe someone who used to be a prolific blogger. Maybe a friend-you-never met from an old forum. Suddenly you notice they’re gone. And you worry and wonder, but what can you do? DuckDuckGo may give you an answer — but more than likely not, especially if it’s someone who posted under a pseudonym.
We found out MamaLiberty was dead because she planned her death and people who knew put the word out. Dear Capn Gooch (a long-time Commentariat member and forum participant who also used to send me delicious Texas apricot-pecan cakes) we learned about only because another freedomista happened to stumble upon his local obituary.
But how many more have we silently lost, and how many more are out there enjoying their lives, happily out of the news-of-the-weird (and isn’t it all pretty weird these days?) spotlight? If you’re one of the latter, please comment on this post and let us know.
Strange, strange world we live in.

I guess when I announced the end of blogging back in April 2022 quite a few readers thought I’d be right back. I’ve done that before. And I did say I might pop in now and then.
But I confess I’ve barely had the urge at all. Oh, I’m still watching as the world goes insane and The West collapses. My love “Rhett” and I ponder the signs, good and ill and just plain mystifying. To wit:
Is WWIII upon us? Is the tide really going to turn so that DEI and associated wokeness DIES? Will the damn warmongering neocons ever, ever give up their malign fantasies of world domination through US military might (which no longer exists and hasn’t done us much good through decades of strange wars)? Has the equally malign Davos crowd finally rendered itself irrelevant? How many “died suddenly” headlines and damning releases of hidden data will it take before certain movers-and-shakers will be sent a la lanterne?
Is some degree of sanity returning in the matter of sexually mutilating troubled adolescents? Will attempts to regain free speech triumph? Did the recent global deep freeze finally unveil the folly of relying on misnamed “clean energy”? Will the latest disaster finally prompt Boeing to stop bean-counting and DEIing to return to making sound airplanes? Will the FAA be halted in its plans to put mental incompetents, schizophrenics, and murderous psychopaths seeking large numbers and large headlines in charge of air traffic control?
Do the neocons of both parties really think we’ll all magically rally ’round war-mongering Nikki Haley if they spend enough money on her and promote her as the next … um, Jed Bush? Do MAGA supporters, though their hearts are in the right place, really believe that Trump can save us from disastrous decay? Does anyone actually believe Biden isn’t a pervy, belligerent, never-competent, always-corrupt, now-senile puppet?
Rhett and I spend hours a day reading the entrails, trying to learn our fate and the fate of freedom and life. But write about it? Not even a hint of a flicker of a shadow of an urge.
Why? Because I preached my main messages to the choir long, long ago and I got tired of repeating myself. But also because there are now lots of people saying and writing good things that only a handful of us were saying 10 or 20 years ago. And now, thanks to Substack a fabulous number of former mainstream stars (Bari Weiss, Matt Taibbi, etc.) and former unheard nobodies are having their say for freedom and sanity — eloquently, effectively, and encouragingly.
Weiss has even created a mini media empire that’s drawn in whistleblowers, political humorists, poets, other former mainstream stars, and reporters on the ground in world hot-spots — and encouraged civil discourse among differing voices at the same time. Impressive!
Who needs me, these days? Only Rhett and Trixie, I’m happy to say.
Yeah, sometimes it’s a little odd no longer being “THE Claire Wolfe.” But then, it was always more than a little odd for this happy hermit to be semi-hemi-demi-quasi-pseudo famous in the first place (I was SO glad when the marriage proposals from random strangers and the demands for me to lead the next American Revolution stopped coming in). So my new status in the “Is so-and-so still alive?” category is a fine tradeoff.

Well, there was one thing I almost wrote about lately, and that I can note in a few sentences (although I would have done it in a whole lot of sentences with dozens of links):
Be of good cheer. Our would-be world-dominators are, above all, WEAK. They may have billions, even trillions, of dollars (and euros) to play with. They may have schemes that make movie supervillains look like gnats by comparison. They may control (or think they control) vast militaries and vast surveillance, psy-ops, murder, and incarceration operations. They may love to think of themselves as the Masters of the Universe.
But personally, they are SO SCARED. They tremble in their fashionable jackboots at the very thought of US. They peer out their heavily fortified windows every day as millions of ordinary folk — We the Deplorables, We the Bitter Clingers, We the Neanderthals, We the Bug-Eaters-and-Serfs-of-Their-Neo-Medieval-Future — perceive and resist the edifice of control they’ve been trying to build. The civilization they’re trying to destroy shows unanticipated (by them) signs of durability while their own castles in the sky crumble.
Isn’t that grand?
Good to see you, Claire. I am an ardent fan of yours.
Robert
Greetings and salutations Claire, Rhett, and Trixie; so glad to hear from you and to see you still have the gifts our Lord blessed you with. My computer went down, big time, a year or so ago and I lost all my contact files, including your website, so it is great to make contact again. And you are so right, there has been a number of sudden deaths that “nobody” can explain. All those who died in the peak of health, the prime of their lives. While many of those who passed were sports figures and worthy of noting, there were many more who were just your average John and Jane Doe and who may have generated a small obituary notice in the local paper. There were many among my acquaintances who passed, and they and all the elite who had page 1 and page 2 write-ups, had one thing in common something that people don’t want to talk about; they all had the Covid vaccine, the jab, the game changer. Beware the government who wants to start another deadly virus with the cure in hand in order to create higher mortality, make people afraid to leave their homes, and to change the course of an election.
Be well Claire, enjoy what life brings you, and give hugs to Rhett and Trixie for me.
Fred
Good to hear from you it has been a while. Hope all is well. I agree at some point youy just have to move to the hext thing, hearing from you once in a while woud be nice.
THE Claire Wolf will never die because there will be those like me and many more to follow who will proudly shout;
I AM CLAIRE WOLF!
Thank you for the update. I have from time to time caught my self wondering what your take on X would be much as I do with the late Mike B. Some of the new voices or okay but I can’t help think that they are late to the party so to speak. And not to sound to fan boy but a pale imitation of The Claire Wolf.
It’s been so long, I forgot my “screen name”. LOL.
It really is nice to hear from you Claire! I think when the whole world has gone mad, it’s nice to pull in and just mind your own taters. I’ve been doing the same. I’m very happily tending to my little plot of serenity out in the boonies. I can’t see how “society” has anything sane to offer. I have wonderful neighbors and we don’t talk about anything other than our livestock and gardens. It’s refreshing.
Good to hear from you.
Thanks!
Ha! As always, you put what I have been thinking and feeling into words that help Clarify (TEEHEE) it for me, myself and I. The journey has been long and crazy, but definitely worth it.
I look back and see all of the times I thought society was on the edge, but it has never been closer than now. Our (un(s))elected leaders are in a tizzy and no longer have anywhere to turn. At the same time I am quite content with the unknown future and willing to take each moment as it’s own.
Thanks for the update.
Love and Light to all here and around the world, seeking truth and mutual respect.

Hi Ms. Wolfe
Glad you and yours are still kicking, been a long time since Waco.
I’m still here…. also trying to get used to having the more “mainstream” among us speak my thoughts which would previously have been considered “tin-hat”, *before* I do… rendering my speech superfluous. Things are indeed now in a previously unimaginable state of weird.
Not much more to say. It’s all been said. The lines are drawn. The sides are chosen. Everyone is just waiting for the bell to ring, as the tension (and potential) exponentiates.
Wowsers, THE Claire Wolfe lives and breathes yet!
Saw your name mentioned just yesterday on some comment board, I think at ZeroHedge. Glad to see you back, if only for a day. Be well.
I understand your reluctance to continue the good fight but it’s good to know you are still around. As noted above, you also managed to summarize many thoughts that most of have. Too bad some of mainstream but still good folks like Phil Ochs and other songsters are no longer with us. The Yeats poem about things is right on target and I fear we’ve seen the apex of humanity. There’s no way my grandson can experience the same degree of civilization that we have now in the First World. The Boomers, maybe too self-focused, still tried to confront TPTB but, as Leonard Cohen said, the revolution is over, the bad guys won. Maybe I’m wrong and reason will return.
It would be nice get a post from you now and then to remind of us that we are not alone.
StevefromMA
Salute. You keep enjoying life.
Godspeed to all.
Well done Claire!
Thank you for popping back up — I was just wondering whateverbecameof yesterday. It’s coming into the final inning now. Can everyone feel it?
So true as always great to hear your still with us and as always you make things seem simple to understand.
Hi Claire, glad to hear all is well.
Kids got old enough to read Hardyville Tales on their own, but, not so old they don’t enjoy a snuggle. Therefore, weblife contines to sit on the back burner.
Recently, it was reading them Unintended Consequences by John Ross — before they totally stop listening to silly old dad.
Love ya, wherever you are, love ya!
So glad to see your update. No telling how many times I’ve clicked the link from Joel’s site to see if there was any new comments. I’ve pretty much decided to just sit here and wait for the real trouble to start. Looks like we might be getting close. Please take care of yourself and don’t be a stranger to your blog.
Thanks for checking in Claire. Good to hear you are doing well. Take care!
Happy for you. Peace and blessings.
Just as I was, literally tomorrow, going to remove this blog from my bookmark toolbar…….
Still not time to shoot the bastards?
Thanks for the update, Claire. Peace and blessings to you.
[…] Even Claire Wolfe is saying thier scared,,,,, […]
My heart leapt when I saw you in my RSS feed.
Thanks for saying hi, I’m very happy that you are happy.
Love the post Claire! Delighted when I saw the notification in my inbox. Wishing you and your loved ones the very best always.
Weird and crazy times. More and more good souls are standing up and speaking up. It’s encouraging to witness.
Blessings to all.
I’m not on the forums much these days, Claire, but I am still above ground.
Glad you’re still with us! I’m still around, too—I have an article up at the latest extant issue of The Libertarian Enterprise.
Hey Claire, So glad to hear your voice! Still not online but inherited a “smart phone ” so can still keep up with news. It won’t allow me to log in anywhere, hence my absence from the forum but hopefully will allow me to comment. Please give my best to all. Alive and well in Missouri but email doesn’t work. T.L.Free
Hi Claire et al,
I’m still around after 4 years offline, and will be checking in occasionally —
more to read than to comment — but will keeps tabs on what’s happening.
Glad to see you all again.
Been over 10 years since leaving the old Claire Files and what it was many years prior. Like others who have commented here I stay out here in the woods and stay concerned with livestock, gardening, and keeping my powder dry. I watch TV and hang out on the www but manage to stay away from feeling agitated while choosing to find laughter over what is going down. Claire is right on when describing “Our would-be world-dominators are, above all, WEAK.” (It is their stupidity that makes me laugh)
Hi Claire … you are the one that got me going on blogs years ago … glad to hear from you … any word on Joel as of 2/11/24 ? thanks again ! … Patrick
What a treat to come across your post!
I’m also wondering if something has happened to our beloved Joel. I can’t seem to access the now 55 comments on his last blog post from 2/11.
Hello, old friends (and new people, too). We have some catching up to do.
As to Joel … I don’t know. He seems to be alive and well; he was on the forums very recently.
I also can’t access those alleged “55 comments” on any browser on any device, with any settings. I’m wondering whether his ISP or hosting site have made technical changes that have made it impossible for him to blog. Off to ask him now what’s up.
UPDATE from Joel: He’s fine; his blog is broken. He doesn’t have the tech skills to diagnose or fix the problem and he feels terrible because he can’t even let faithful readers know what’s going on. I’ll talk with him about possible avenues of approach to get back up and running.
Many, many of us are relieved–thank you for checking on Joel.
What with all his descriptions of desert hermit life the mind does wander…….
How ironic I should find this post when asking the very question “Is Claire Wolfe still around?” Good to see that you are, and I get not wanting to repeat yourself. I wanted you to know, Claire, that you inspired me so much that I actually made it to Hardyville and I’m living the life I dreamed of all those years ago sitting in a dreary office cubicle.
Long ago, when I posted the first few chapters of what became my War’s End trilogy, you wisely advised me to hold off, to finish, and to try and get it published. Well, fifteen books later, I’m doing just that.
I raised the one kiddo. Had another. Got sad that my body told me it was done having kids and ended up fostering and adopting two more. So now my “baby” is turning 18, and my two Littles are 8 and 2, respectively. Living the good life and working hard every day to keep that dream a’going.
Thanks for reminding me that if I wasn’t on the road to Hardyville, I needed to turn around. Whelp, I turned around!
Glad to see you are “still kickin'”! I stumbled upon your 101 book from a lending library in my small town. And chuckle as I read your words from 1996 that are still ringing true today. You certainly had insights that only a small handful of people had back in the day! Enjoy your time away from the world of writing regularly:)
