Thanks to your greatheartedness, Sweetie the troubled, deaf, dislocated, heartworm-positive heeler now has more than enough to complete her heartworm treatment. AND more than enough to buy a vibrating training collar! AND enough to keep her in kibble for all the time she’s likely to be in foster care!

YOU are an amazing bunch.

Barring something truly unforeseen (knock wood), we shouldn’t have to raise another dime for her.

Thank you for using my Amazon link

Since I stuck that link at the top of the blog, you’ve made every month like Christmas. Well, like December, which is always the best Amazon month of the year.

And you need to know how all the purchases, big and small, work together. People have purchased some large pieces of equipment. Shop equipment. Medical equipment. Outdoor equipment. One day last month, the daily total on the Amazon vendor account jumped so suddenly I thought it was a mistake. But no; someone (I’ll never know who unless they tell me) bought a big piece of homesteading equipment — which gave me a bigger Amazon commission than I ever expected to see.

At the same time, the two busiest categories of purchases, month after month, are Kindle books and dead-tree books. The individual commissions in these categories are small — sometimes just $.06 for a Kindle book. BUT …

The number of items purchased determines the rate on all purchases. You buy enough $.99 Kindle books — and you push up the commission on everything.

Teamwork. 🙂 So thank you very much for that. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m paid for this blog, but the pay is based on one entry a week. Your Amazon purchases help keep the blog lively.

An update

You might remember I was having a dilemma over a repairs on an old beater car. I asked: Do I buy the cheap knockoff part and maybe save a bundle; or do I bite the bullet, get the brand-name part for six bloody times more!, and be more assured of success?

The consensus was for the knockoff. Even the guys at the shop said what the heck, with such a monumental difference in price, try that first. Which I did.

But in this case, you guys who said to go with the brand name were right. And you guys who said, “I’d buy the knockoff if I were doing the work myself, but I’d buy the brand name if I had to pay for the installation” were the rightest of all.

Bought the knockoff. It wouldn’t even fit in the space it was supposed to go into. Had to buy the brand-name part AND pay an extra hour’s labor. So there you have it.

At least the shop is good and finally the Dogmobile runs after nearly a year of mostly sitting idle.

—–

Okay, all caught up. Tomorrow: Back to blogging about snitches and collecting your excellent (though sometimes saddening, sometimes maddening) commentary for The Project.

Thank you from Sweetie I was supposed to wait for a cute new picture before giving this thank you.
