Oy, that picture of seawater flooding into the PATH station &#8212; impressive. A lot of phony photos of Sandy have been circulating, though. I&#8217;m not sure <a href=\"http:\/\/twitpic.com\/b8mxr2\" target=\"_blank\">this one<\/a> of a Niagra of seawater flooding into the World Trade Center construction site is real; it&#8217;s credited to the AP, but there so much to sort out yet.\n<li>Is anybody hereabouts planning to participate in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nanowrimo.org\/about\/hownanoworks\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Novel Writing Month<\/a>? I&#8217;m thinking about it, but the idea scares the bejabbers out of me.\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/10\/28\/magazine\/the-island-where-people-forget-to-die.html\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;The Island Where People Forget to Die.&#8221;<\/a>\n<li>Hoplophobes: If the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/article\/perhaps-there-s-something-to-the-claim-that-guns-alone-cannot-rein-government\" target=\"_blank\">Second Amendment<\/a> offends you, no problem. You can always try and kill <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/article\/when-thwarted-efforts-to-trample-2nd-amendment-csgv-goes-after-the-1st-1\" target=\"_blank\">the First<\/a>. (H\/T J)\n<li>Camille Paglia&#8217;s been awfully quiet lately. But the lady with the great gift for words <a href=\"http:\/\/althouse.blogspot.com\/2012\/10\/camille-paglia-who-voted-for-obama-in.html\" target=\"_blank\">shreds Obama from the left<\/a>.\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/dangerroom\/2012\/10\/wiki-weapon\/\" target=\"_blank\">WikiWeapons folks<\/a> are back at work.\n<li>It&#8217;s kinda funny. In the last desperate days and weeks before the election, &#8220;right wing&#8221; commentators are doing elaborate analyses of poll numbers and concluding (e.g. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commentarymagazine.com\/2012\/10\/28\/the-obama-ground-game-myth\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/2012\/10\/09\/romney-will-win-in-landslide-las-vegas-oddsmaker-doubles-down-on-prediction\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>) that Romney&#8217;s got it in the bag. While Dems insist that the polls don&#8217;t matter one bit because <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/the_slatest\/2012\/10\/28\/obama_likely_to_win_electoral_college_path_to_270_electoral_votes.html\" target=\"_blank\">Obama has 270 electoral college votes<\/a> in his pocket. Meanwhile someone who was there as <a href=\"http:\/\/weeklystandard.com\/articles\/george-herbert-walker-obama_657916.html\" target=\"_blank\">George HW Bush blew his re-election<\/a> says he&#8217;s hearing the same-old, same-old. So who&#8217;s it going to be, people?
