The stressors aren&#8217;t bad things; no problems. Nothing to worry about. It&#8217;s just that since late April I&#8217;ve felt as if I&#8217;m running back and forth on a high wire with no net and an armload of bicycle parts that keep falling out of my arms, unbalancing me.<\/p>\n<p>One more demand on my time, one more responsibility, one more dollar that has to come out of my pocket and I fear I&#8217;ll plunge to the ground and shatter.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, that&#8217;s a little melodramatic. There are days I handle everything just fine, filled with confidence. Other times, I awake in the night headachy and anxious, have dreams of being lost, then get up in the morning groggy, grouchy, unready, and put-upon. Last night was one of those nights. This morning was one of those mornings.<\/p>\n<p>I thought, &#8220;I just need a day &#8212; an afternoon &#8212; a few hours &#8212; where I don&#8217;t have to think about anything, don&#8217;t have to coordinate anything, don&#8217;t have to worry about anybody letting me down, don&#8217;t have to pay any attention to the TO DO list.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then after taking the dogs for their walk, I stopped at the post office where I found these waiting for me:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/ClaireWolfe\/2013\/07\/24\/a-message-from-the-amazon-is-somebody-trying-to-tell-me-something\/sudokubooks_072413\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14617\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/ClaireWolfe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/SudokuBooks_072413.jpg\" alt=\"SudokuBooks_072413\" width=\"450\" height=\"395\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14617\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clairewolfe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/SudokuBooks_072413.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.clairewolfe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/SudokuBooks_072413-300x263.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Seems somebody anticipated my desperation to just sit down, quit freeting, and quietly de-stress. (And yes, I like sudoku, though I&#8217;m only mediocre at it.)<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0312368690\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=0312368690&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=livifree07-20\" target=\"_blank\">Will Shortz book<\/a> has puzzles at all levels, for days when my brain is functioning and days it objects to functioning. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1844834050\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=1844834050&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=livifree07-20\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Mastering Sudoku<\/i><\/a> may help my brain get over its objections.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the sudoku books, there was a preparedness book by a nice Utah lady: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/189351904X\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=189351904X&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=livifree07-20\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Cookin&#8217; With Beans and Rice<\/i><\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/ClaireWolfe\/2013\/07\/24\/a-message-from-the-amazon-is-somebody-trying-to-tell-me-something\/sudokubooksandcookbook_072413\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14618\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/ClaireWolfe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/SudokuBooksandCookbook_072413.jpg\" alt=\"SudokuBooksandCookbook_072413\" width=\"450\" height=\"326\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14618\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clairewolfe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/SudokuBooksandCookbook_072413.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.clairewolfe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/SudokuBooksandCookbook_072413-300x217.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Seems somebody knows what the money situation has been &#8212; <i>and<\/i> has a sense of humor about it. Or maybe was just adding enough to get super-saver shipping. (Good for somebody; my kind of person.)<\/p>\n<p>In any case, I got a laugh and will get good use out of all three books.
