But Bruce Schneier notes that it&#8217;s possible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schneier.com\/blog\/archives\/2013\/09\/surreptitiously.html\" target=\"_blank\">to insert surveillance<\/a> almost undetectably <i>at the microchip level<\/i>.\n<li>More evidence that while the NSA may know what <i>you&#8217;re<\/i> doing, it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/snowdens-data-theft-was-incredible-easy-2013-9\" target=\"_blank\">has no idea<\/a> what its own people are doing.\n<li>The ACLU <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcclatchydc.com\/2013\/09\/17\/202431\/fbi-a-secret-domestic-intelligence.html\" target=\"_blank\">doesn&#8217;t come right out and call the FBI America&#8217;s secret police<\/a>. But pretty close. Alas, they still imagine the agency might investigate and reform itself. (Via <a href=\"http:\/\/sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sipsey Street<\/a>)\n<li>But of course, it&#8217;s all just okey-dokey-hunky-dory-nifty-zorch because <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/2013-09-17\/u-s-court-upholds-nsa-phone-records-spying-in-ruling.html\" target=\"_blank\">none of it&#8217;s unconstitutional<\/a>!\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>On the lighter side<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.laimyours.com\/43193\/richard-jackson-knows-bad-dogs\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bad dog!<\/a>\n<li>Even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=19ZUCoK_FP8\" target=\"_blank\">badder dog<\/a>.\n<li>Really <del datetime=\"2013-09-19T19:28:57+00:00\">terrible<\/del> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.3news.co.nz\/Brunos-tyre-obsession-sees-him-behind-bars\/tabid\/423\/articleID\/216557\/Default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">good dog!<\/a> Even better yet, here&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/dailypicksandflicks.com\/2013\/07\/01\/hilarious-dog-attack-news-graphic-video\/\" target=\"_blank\">hilarious animation<\/a> a local New Zealand news program created to illustrate this particular dog story.\n<li>New Jersey may be the worst state in the nation for gun rights (and a lot of other things). But <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lehighvalleylive.com\/phillipsburg\/index.ssf\/2013\/09\/giant_revolver_mailbox_still_t.html\" target=\"_blank\">here&#8217;s a big one they haven&#8217;t banned<\/a>. (H\/T JW)\n<li>I don&#8217;t know whether this is &#8220;lighter side&#8221; or &#8220;darker side.&#8221; But it&#8217;s strange: It&#8217;s possible for one person to carry more than one genome and scientists are realizing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2013\/09\/17\/science\/dna-double-take.html\" target=\"_blank\">it&#8217;s not as uncommon as they thought<\/a>.\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the darker side It&#8217;s just theory and the technology of it is very much over my pretty little head.
