This one&#8217;s from Soren Kierkegaard:<\/p>\n<p><center><i>\u201cA fire broke out backstage in a theater. The clown came out to warn the public; they thought it was a joke and applauded. He repeated it; the acclaim was even greater. I think that&#8217;s how the world will come to an end: to general applause from wits who believe it&#8217;s a joke.\u201d<\/i><\/center> <\/p>\n<p>BTW, here&#8217;s the latest in NSA paranoia: apparently we now need to be &#8220;protected&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/europe\/2013\/10\/us-spied-vatican-run-up-conclave-2013103015834540291.html\" target=\"_blank\">against all those terroristic old cardinals at the Vatican<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/iwastesomuchtime.com\/on\/?i=82763\" target=\"_blank\">Source for graphic<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Such a sign of our times that the only public figures telling the truth are comedians.
