Adams:<\/p>\n<p><center><i>Prohibition is an awful flop.<br \/>\nWe like it.<br \/>\nIt can&#8217;t stop what it&#8217;s meant to stop.<br \/>\nWe like it.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s left a trail of graft and slime,<br \/>\nIt don&#8217;t prohibit worth a dime,<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s filled our land with vice and crime.<br \/>\nNevertheless, we&#8217;re for it.<\/i><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The poem itself was written in equally dubious honor of the wussy work of <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.potsdam.edu\/hansondj\/Controversies\/Wickersham-Commission.html\" target=\"_blank\">the Wickersham Commission<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>That is, that other Prohibition ended 80 years ago with the ratification of the 21st Amendment.
