Comments (particularly from Ellendra and Paul Bonneau) have got my brain headed off in a different direction and I&#8217;ll simply have to wait and see if I can chase after it and catch it long enough to get something coherent down on pixels.<\/p>\n<p>Meantime, here are some links, some related to that topic (though not always in an obvious way), some not at all.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The end of neighbors. In case you missed it, Kurt Hofmann also had a <a href=\"http:\/\/jpfo.org\/articles-assd04\/palmer-vs-dc.htm\" target=\"_blank\">good take on Palmer<\/a> last week at JPFO.\n<li><i>Wired<\/i> (specifically the great James Bamford) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/2014\/08\/edward-snowden\/\" target=\"_blank\">interviews Snowden<\/a> on (among other things) why he became a whistleblower.\n<li>While researching for part II of &#8220;Defining Ourselves,&#8221; I went down this pathway and found the amazing variety of people and organizations <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Individuals_and_groups_assisting_Jews_during_the_Holocaust\" target=\"_blank\">who helped Jews<\/a> during the Holocaust, and the equally amazing variey of ways they did it.\n<li>On the topic of genocide &#8230; old colleague R. sent a link to this beautiful song about aftermath and rage. Patty Griffin: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=q8Cq2kMB7_Y\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Cold as it Gets<\/i><\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.azlyrics.com\/lyrics\/pattygriffin\/coldasitgets.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lyrics here<\/a>.\n<li>Bob Owens <a href=\"http:\/\/bearingarms.com\/american-shooters-intelligent-fall-dumb-smart-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\">takes apart &#8220;smart guns.&#8221;<\/a> Not that you&#8217;ll be surprised by any of the info.
