It&#8217;s too bad her hell is just beginning.\n<li>Speaking of a child&#8217;s (and a family&#8217;s) hell, the <i>Washington Post<\/i> has an unusually even-handed story about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/morning-mix\/wp\/2014\/12\/31\/the-inside-story-of-how-an-idaho-toddler-shot-his-mom-at-wal-mart\/?tid=pm_pop\" target=\"_blank\">how that Idaho toddler shot<\/a> his mother to death. It being a story about Idaho and guns, I note that the D.C.-ites (without apparent irony) assigned it to a <i>foreign affairs<\/i> correspondent. (H\/T. LA)\n<li>My first response to that widely reported claim that 2\/3 of all cancers just come out of nowhere, sorry, complete coincidence, no way to prevent them, was <i>okay, so the initial mutation might come out of nowhere, but what is your body equipped to do about it?<\/i> I&#8217;m not the only one <a href=\"http:\/\/qz.com\/320834\/two-thirds-of-cancers-a-matter-of-bad-luck-not-so-fast\/\" target=\"_blank\">asking such questions<\/a>.\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2015\/01\/04\/opinion\/sunday\/the-liberation-of-growing-old.html\" target=\"_blank\">liberation of aging<\/a>.\n<li>Cops try to bust man for smoking pot.
