(H\/T PT)\n<li>On the other hand, we could use some pretty basic changes of policy (and of heart) toward our beloved companions. This man <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pet360.com\/dog\/lifestyle\/homeless-man-that-refused-to-abandon-his-dog-finally-gets-help-from-rescue-organization\/ADJfdveXB0OFxayeV20x7A\" target=\"_blank\">lived on the streets<\/a> for two years because no homeless shelter would accept him with the dog who&#8217;d devoted a life to him. (Fortunately, help eventually stepped in.)\n<li>Ohhh, how the IRS <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/the-newest-obamacare-fail-penalties-of36500-per-worker-2015-07-23\" target=\"_blank\">loooooves Obamacare<\/a>!\n<li>Two on Sandra Bland (and on the expectation that serfs must obey any command of their masters): Orin Kerr concludes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/volokh-conspiracy\/wp\/2015\/07\/23\/sandra-bland-and-the-lawful-order-problem\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;But this is America, and we didn\u2019t fight a revolution to make that the only choice.&#8221;<\/a> And Jacob Sullum&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/blog\/2015\/07\/23\/sandra-blands-arrest-and-the-expectation\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Sandra Bland&#8217;s Arrest and the Expectation of Meek Subservience.&#8221;<\/a> Suicide or murder? Bottom line is that Sandra Bland didn&#8217;t belong in jail in the first place. She was there only because she &#8212; a mere peasant &#8212; bruised some statist thug&#8217;s ego.\n<li>Perfect example of another &#8220;good cop.&#8221; And note how supporters flocked to defend him and make him out to be the victim. Did any of his authoritarian cheerleaders care <a href=\"http:\/\/filmingcops.com\/trooper-of-the-year-good-cop-sexually-assaults-a-4-yr-old-girl-multiple-times-cries-when-he-is-sentenced\/\" target=\"_blank\">about the four-year-old girl<\/a> Mr. Weepy Cop molested? (No, she probably &#8220;made him do it&#8221; or &#8220;was asking for it&#8221;.) What an utterly disgusting spectacle. Many, many possibilities!\n<li>I&#8217;ve watched several cancer patients, who knew they were terminal, spend their last months in an agony of hopeful chemo. At the end, they bitterly regretted putting themselves through it.
