That’s a simple fact of life.

So there I was in this town’s mini-supermart — which is a neat little store, but definitely little — scanning the bread rack. The first (and for a while only) rye bread my eyes lighted on cost six bucks. Ack! It was an interesting, even funky, unknown brand. All organic and containing nothing but Actual Ingredients. Still … six bux. I kept on searching and eventually found the $3 loaf of familiar branded deli rye.

Then I looked at its list of ingredients. And back at the artisan loaf’s ingredients. And back at the deli loaf’s ingredients, which stretched on and on beyond all recognition. And I bought the artisan brand.

Not till I got it home did I notice that Dave’s Killer Bread has one heck of a life-change story behind it (video and pdf versions both available on that page).

Besides, the company supports Project Pooch (“changing lives, one dog at a time”).
