Then he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?409649-5\/washington-journal-james-bovard-cost-war-terror\" target=\"_blank\">went on C-Span<\/a> to talk about it, too.\n<li>Which takes us to Richard Rahn&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2016\/may\/23\/richard-rahn-regulations-will-ruin-the-economy\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Kill the regulatory parasite.&#8221;<\/a>\n<li>Oh, <a href=\"http:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2016\/05\/26\/katie-couric-decried-edited-planned-parenthood-footage-then-doctored-a-gun-owner-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\">Katie, Katie, Katie<\/a>. You went the full Rather. You should never go the full Rather. And at least he didn&#8217;t make phony-baloney excuses.\n<li>A recent study says that the threshhold-based blood tests used by states to determine whether legal pot users are impaired or not <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2016\/05\/new-study-says-there-is-no-scientific-basis-for-current-marijuana-dui-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\">aren&#8217;t based in sound science<\/a>. This wild-and-crazy pro-pot-user claim comes from those mad radicals at &#8230; the American Automobile Association. AAA.\n<li>John Tamny: if we love the big banks (&#8220;we&#8221; meaning not you and me, necessarily), we must love them enough to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.libertylawsite.org\/2016\/05\/25\/if-we-love-the-banks-we-must-love-them-enough-to-let-them-fail\/\" target=\"_blank\">let them fail<\/a>.\n<li>Obama, foreign aid, promises, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/opinion\/2016\/05\/19\/obama-anti-corruption-summit-kerry-afghanistan-egypt-foreign-aid-column\/84450026\/\" target=\"_blank\">corruption in high places<\/a>.\n<li>Speaking of smartphones (as we were earlier this week), reader F. sends <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2016\/05\/24\/expert-warns-facebook-could-be-eavesdropping-through-your-phone\/\" target=\"_blank\">this cheery word<\/a> that F*c*b**k&#8217;s admission that it&#8217;s listening to you via your phone&#8217;s microphone while you&#8217;re using its app may be only part of the even creepier, much creepier, truth.\n<li>How much creepier can things get? Advanced tech is not the only thing we have to worry about. How about nuclear capability <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2016\/05\/25\/us-military-uses-8-inch-floppy-disks-to-coordinate-nuclear-force-operations.html\" target=\"_blank\">coordinated by eight-inch floppies<\/a>??? For you young things, eight-inch floppies were already obsolete when I got my first computer in 1982. (H\/T MtK)\n<\/ul>\n<p>I normally like to end links posts on a cheery, or at least a &#8220;lite&#8221; note. But there seems to be no joy in Mudville or anyplace else today. I need to go look for some cute dog videos or somesuch.<\/p>\n<p>ADDED: Well, wait. I didn&#8217;t have time to look for any cute dog videos. But since today&#8217;s theme seems to be &#8220;creepy as all get out,&#8221; I remembered this story about &#8230; um, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/tv-and-radio\/2016\/may\/25\/secret-life-of-the-human-pups-the-men-who-live-as-dogs\" target=\"_blank\">men who live as dogs<\/a>. Yes, not cute. But the best I could do today, sorry. I suppose we&#8217;ll soon be hearing these &#8220;pups&#8221; demand special restroom privileges.
