When I first posted about TZP’s newest store item<\/a> last month, I said the new binoculars offered by The Zelman Partisans were “compact.” <\/p>\n

At that point, I’d only seen a photo of them that had nothing in it to indicate scale. I was going by what the bossman, Brad Alpert, told me.<\/p>\n

Between then and now I got my own pair. And now I know what “compact” means. When the package arrived, I thought something had to be wrong. The box was no bigger than a double pack of playing cards. A slightly thick pack of cigarettes. How could that be?<\/p>\n

That’s a regular-sized pen (ignore the adorable puppies if you can). That’s how compact the binoculars are.<\/p>\n

The binocs open up to fit your eyes, of course. And for those of us with lopsided vision, there’s a separate adjustment for each eye.<\/p>\n

And they come with a cleaning cloth, lanyard, instructions (in actual English! as well as other languages), and their own tiny carry case with a belt loop.<\/p>\n

They weigh almost nothing. You could slip them on your belt and scarcely notice they’re there. But there they’d be: for checking your pistol targets. For catching an intruder at the edge of your property. For identifying a bird on a branch. For spying on a gorgeous woman at the beach<\/del> (um, no, you wouldn’t do that). But surely you’ve had moments when you wished you had a pair of binoculars, but you left yours at home because they were waaaay too heavy, clunky, and annoying to carry.<\/p>\n

Won’t happen again if you have a pair — or two, or three — of these. On your belt. In your glove compartment. On a window sill. Tucked into your shooting kit. In your go-bag. Wherever.<\/p>\n

And they’re just $29.<\/p>\n

NFI to me, by the way. My only interest is in seeing TZP grow and thrive. And recommending a good little (and I mean little<\/i>) product to anyone who might be interested. If you happen to be one of those people, go to the TZP store<\/a> and get yours soon. We’re down to 26 pair and when they’re gone, that’s that.<\/p>\n

Of course there are negatives. Do these feature world-class optics? Um … no. They have perfectly serviceable<\/i> optics for what they are. But for 29 bux you think you get Zeiss Terras<\/a>??? Ain’t happening.<\/p>\n

Still, for the “lite,” quick uses you’re likely to make of these, they are truly handy, clever, useful little gadgets.<\/p>\n
