(Then there&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.currentaffairs.org\/2016\/08\/the-clinton-foundations-problems-are-deeper-than\" target=\"_blank\">this, too,<\/a> via Wendy &#038; Brad&#8217;s place.)\n<li>With science fiction&#8217;s Hugo awards having become so politicized that a coterie of social justice pecksniffs will deny v*tes to great writers, artists, and editors merely because they&#8217;re supported by a rival (and more freedomista) coterie, <a href=\"https:\/\/thelibertyzone.us\/2016\/09\/04\/dragon-awards-the-aftermath-and-beyond\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Dragon Awards<\/a> arise. No cliques. Just fan voting. And of course that makes it &#8220;sexist,&#8221; &#8220;racist,&#8221; and &#8230; well, you know the drill.*\n<li>Unverified, so take with however much salt you need, but Will Lehr, writing for Survival Blog, claims that <a href=\"https:\/\/survivalblog.com\/36282-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">the first steps of IRA confiscation<\/a> (via forcing retirement plans into government bonds) have already been taken.\n<li>Yep, this 16-year-old kid&#8217;s pretty impressive. Homeschooled, of course. Anybody want to bet he&#8217;s a Mormon? But does he &#8212; or his interviewer &#8212; have the slightest clue about what would really happen at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=m25vL7EpfAY&#038;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\">an Article Five convention<\/a>? OdS)\n<li>How <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/09\/03\/technology\/nso-group-how-spy-tech-firms-let-governments-see-everything-on-a-smartphone.html\" target=\"_blank\">private spy firms<\/a> help governments see whatever they want<\/a> on smartphones. (Spit!)\n<li>Amazon is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/amazon-30-hour-workweek-great-2016-8\" target=\"_blank\">testing a new 30-hour, full-benefits workweek<\/a>.\n<li>Back in 1975, it was kind of amusing to think of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atlasobscura.com\/articles\/in-1975-a-cat-coauthored-a-physics-paper\" target=\"_blank\">a cat co-authoring a physics paper<\/a>. These days, with so much scientific work in sad disrepute, one might almost think many studies have been truly conducted by felines. (Fond of the little mousies and ratties, they are, but somewhat biased.)\n<li>Finally, here&#8217;s your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.people.com\/article\/georgia-dad-dies-days-after-giving-daughter-away\" target=\"_blank\">tearjerker story<\/a> of the day.
