The author says rural Americans have been abused to the point where Trump looks like their savior and they&#8217;re understandably, righteously pissed at political business as usual.\n<li>Hillary&#8217;s views on cybersecurity <a href=\"https:\/\/theintercept.com\/2016\/10\/14\/hillary-clintons-encryption-proposal-was-impossible-said-top-adviser\/\" target=\"_blank\">are not only dumb and evil<\/a>. They&#8217;re impossible, as even some of her advisors clearly understood. Can&#8217;t have super-security plus nice backdoors that only the &#8220;good guys&#8221; &#8212; that is, Hillary&#8217;s friends &#8212; can walk through. But not to worry! Hillary! Has the Experience! We Need! To become our dictator.\n<li>How one itty-bitty Nebraska town <a href=\"http:\/\/www.omaha.com\/columnists\/hansen\/hansen-how-tiny-seneca-nebraska-torn-apart-by-bitterness-voted\/article_feb222a2-9255-5c90-90c6-0eb61d141e00.html\" target=\"_blank\">v*ted itself out of existence<\/a>. (H\/T MJR) Meanwhile, in Spain, Spaniards are <a href=\"http:\/\/latino.foxnews.com\/latino\/news\/2016\/10\/14\/economic-bubble-spain-nears-300-days-without-govt\/\" target=\"_blank\">quite unflapped<\/a> at having gone nearly a year without an &#8220;official&#8221; government.\n<li>A little weird, but bear with it: <a href=\"https:\/\/theintercept.com\/2016\/10\/16\/i-am-fully-capable-of-entertaining-myself-in-prison-for-decades-if-need-be\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;The Barrett Brown Review of Arts and Letters and Prison.&#8221;<\/a> (Or, if you&#8217;re another journalist who gets sent to prison, learn something about role-playing games.)\n<li>You already thought it was bad in Venezuela? Here&#8217;s a man who claims his imprisoned son was <a href=\"http:\/\/latino.foxnews.com\/latino\/news\/2016\/10\/14\/man-claims-son-was-eaten-by-fellow-inmates-during-riot-in-venezuelan-prison\/\" target=\"_blank\">eaten during a prison riot<\/a>. Apparently witnesses back him up. Apparently this is not the first time human flesh was consumed in that particular prison.\n<li>And speaking of humans being consumed &#8230; here&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalaffairs.com\/publications\/detail\/decentralization-deference-and-the-administrative-state\" target=\"_blank\">yet another learned discourse<\/a> on the problem of the ever-consuming administrative state. So many have stated the problem so well! So exactly zero have come up with workable solutions short of lining a lot of bastards up against a wall. The author of this one, Peter J. Walliston, concludes (I paraphrase) that only the Nazgul can put a stop to bureaucratic overreach, except that they probably won&#8217;t. Well.
