Yesterday, rumors roiled the Internet waters: Julian Assange is dead. The U.S. government finally moved in on him.<\/p>\n
The first rumor was not true. The second … appears to be. Assange’s Internet access has been cut off<\/a>, supposedly by a “state party.” Which means the U.S. fedgov even if some other state acted as its proxy.<\/p>\n At the same time, the UK bank accounts of the Russian state media, RT<\/em> or Russia Today<\/em>, were frozen without explanation<\/a>. Assange is widely assumed to have gotten his damning Hillary Clinton emails from hackers associated with the Russian government. <\/p>\n Whatever the reality of WikiLeaks’ info source RT is friendly to Assange<\/a> — though clearly he also had a source in D.C. who was conveniently and mysteriously murdered<\/a>. (I try not to get lost in conspiracy theories, I really do. But the murder of Seth Rich is blatant even for the Friends of Hillary.)<\/p>\n Assange has been self-exiled in the Ecuadorian embassy in London more than four years because he fears the U.S. government. But how odd: Only when he finally starts releasing (yet more) dirt on Clinton does he get cut off from the world. He was prepared for this, of course. Looks as if failsafe documents will likely be released soon. <\/p>\n Newest rumors are that there’s about to be a raid on the embassy and that John Kerry has threatened Ecuador with “grave consequences” if Assange isn’t silenced. Unconfirmed so far.<\/p>\n Funny that the fedgov, which has had a warlike yet wishy-washy foreign policy under Obama, seems finally to get decisively excited only when it own most corrupt favorite feels threatened. Maybe Hillary will eventually get her wish to “drone” Assange<\/a>.<\/p>\n Things could get really interesting, not in a good way, if it develops that the freeze on the RT accounts was also done at U.S. behest. Who was it who said you don’t go to war with Russia in winter?<\/p>\n
