But an interesting potential development.\n<li>Prepare to be shocked: the DEA pays millions to informants <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2016\/12\/28\/audit-finds-waste-law-breaking-little-oversight-in-dea-informant-program.html\" target=\"_blank\">with somewhat less accountability<\/a> than your local library uses to keep track of paperback books.\n<li>And if that wasn&#8217;t enough of a shock, I know you&#8217;ll just faint dead away to know that the Department of (Achtung!) Homeland Security <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/nation-world\/homeland-security-agents-took-15m-in-bribes-closed-their-eyes\/\" target=\"_blank\">is riddled with bribery and corruption<\/a>. (I&#8217;m truly sorry to deliver all this bad news to you; I know how much you trusted and admired your federal government.)\n<li>In news of the weird, the Solano County, CA, prosecutor tried to charge a guy with DUI when the only drug detected in his system <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailyrepublic.com\/news\/fairfield\/solano-da-disputes-defense-claim-that-dui-case-involves-caffeine\/\" target=\"_blank\">was caffeine<\/a>. Eventually they were forced to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kcra.com\/article\/da-drops-dui-charge-after-fairfield-man-tests-positive-for-caffeine\/8543519\" target=\"_blank\">drop the charges<\/a>.\n<li>More fake news from a <a href=\"https:\/\/theintercept.com\/2016\/12\/29\/the-guardians-summary-of-julian-assanges-interview-went-viral-and-was-completely-false\/\" target=\"_blank\">mainstream liberal rag<\/a>. The <em>Guardian<\/em> misrepresents Julian Assange. (Gee, remember those days not long ago when lefties loved him?)\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/basisgear.com\/edible-wild-plants\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sixty-two edible wild plants<\/a>. While this would be more useful if it contained info about where and when the plants are most likely to be found in edible form, it&#8217;s a good reminder that food is all around us.\n<li>But eeew. Never thought of this aspect of living near a university: Neighborhood fears pollution from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/science\/2016\/12\/28\/pollution-from-dead-ivy-league-lab-mice-worries-neighborhood.html\" target=\"_blank\">dead lab mice<\/a> and human body parts.\n<li>This <a href=\"http:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2016\/12\/29\/todd-fisher-shares-drawing-carrie-fisher-debbie-reynolds-miss-them-both\/\" target=\"_blank\">drawing of Debbie and Carrie<\/a> shared by Todd Fisher is a sweet tearjerker. Yeah, way over the top sentimental. But a lovely movie fan gesture.\n<li>Awwwww.
