(Well, if you don&#8217;t count the quotas. And a few other things.) But then, this is Iceland. Which has historically had some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daviddfriedman.com\/Academic\/Iceland\/Iceland.html\" target=\"_blank\">interestingly anarchic ideas<\/a> about law and social organization. (Tip o&#8217; hat to Pat.)\n<li>Boy, I wish U.S. politicians had the gumption <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dx_rCUAE-00\" target=\"_blank\">to tell it as straight as this<\/a>. But every time one even gets close, the media jumps all over him about &#8220;civility&#8221; and the dumb sap apologizes. Somehow, I don&#8217;t think this guy is in any mood to say, &#8220;Sorry.&#8221; (Short video.)\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/the-key-to-understanding-recession-and-recovery-the-wealth-pyramid-2010-11\" target=\"_blank\">One chart<\/a> that says so much about the way things are. &#8220;Recovery,&#8221; indeed.\n<li>If you or I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.popehat.com\/2010\/11\/25\/i-am-thankful-that-charles-jones-will-not-be-reinstated-to-his-job-as-a-dog-kicker-for-a-few-days-more\/\" target=\"_blank\">treated a dog this way<\/a>, we&#8217;d be arrested. If you or I treated a <i>police<\/i> dog this way, we&#8217;d be convicted felons. Or possibly shot dead. But you see, it&#8217;s perfectly okay &#8212; even normal! &#8212; to do this to a police dog if you&#8217;re a cop.
