Next-best thing, I suppose, for someone who&#8217;s made a career out of stridently lecturing the rest of us on our lack of virtue.\n<li>A mayor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sunnyskyz.com\/good-news\/2332\/Salt-Lake-Mayor-Goes-Undercover-As-A-Homeless-Man-For-3-Days-This-Is-What-He-Learned\" target=\"_blank\">goes underground<\/a> as a homeless person.\n<li>I wish we knew the whole story here: <a href=\"http:\/\/thefreethoughtproject.com\/man-disfigured-police-harassment\/\" target=\"_blank\">innocent man disfigured<\/a> by cop encounter. Alas, we do know the story here: <a href=\"http:\/\/thefreethoughtproject.com\/family-fighting-justice-cop-executed-unarmed-son-video-no-reason\/\" target=\"_blank\">family seeks justice<\/a> for son executed by cop.\n<li>Baltimore (which surely must rival Chicago for the nation&#8217;s most wonderfully livable city) reports the latest benefit of government schooling: <a href=\"http:\/\/neveryetmelted.com\/2017\/08\/07\/six-baltimore-schools-report-0-students-proficient-in-math-reading\/\" target=\"_blank\">six schools<\/a> that can&#8217;t produce a single student proficient in math or reading.\n<li>Disney&#8217;s been <a href=\"https:\/\/borepatch.blogspot.com\/2017\/08\/lawsuit-says-disney-apps-track-kids.html\" target=\"_blank\">tracking your kidlets<\/a>.\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2017\/08\/07\/iphone-8-could-scan-your-face-even-if-your-phone-is-on-a-table\/\" target=\"_blank\">Facial recognition<\/a> to unlock your phone.\n<li>Has anybody seen the new show <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/article\/450190\/comrade-detective-amazons-new-comedy-skewers-communism\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Comrade Detective<\/em><\/a>?\n<li>Here&#8217;s a piece I&#8217;ve been meaning to do something with but haven&#8217;t gotten around to: <a href=\"http:\/\/awealthofcommonsense.com\/2017\/07\/why-simple-beats-complex\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Why simple beats complex.&#8221;<\/a>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No cute dog stories today.
