The Mississippi supreme court has granted <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cory_Maye\" target=\"_blank\">Cory Maye<\/a> a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mssc.state.ms.us\/Images\/Opinions\/CO65411.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">new trial<\/a> (pdf).<\/p>\n<p>This is thanks largely to the heroic journalism of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theagitator.com\/2010\/12\/02\/mississippi-supreme-court-grants-cory-maye-a-new-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\">Radley Balko<\/a> and the skilled representation by Bob Evans and Maye&#8217;s other <i>pro bono<\/i> lawyers. <\/p>\n<p>And it&#8217;s damned good, if terribly overdue, news.
