Don&#8217;t ask me why; I have no idea.*<\/p>\n<p>But that led me (and it was a surprisingly short leap) to science-related a capella singing. I knew the latter existed. I didn&#8217;t know there was so much of it these days. One of my faves was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=k99bMtg4zRk\" target=\"_blank\">this &#8220;Mr. Sandman&#8221; parody<\/a> about gene editing, &#8220;CRISPR-Cas9.&#8221; It&#8217;s actually quite educational. With subtitles to help with unconfusication.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/k99bMtg4zRk?ecver=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Then I turned around and discovered that The Onion has <a href=\"https:\/\/whyevolutionistrue.wordpress.com\/2017\/08\/27\/the-onion-on-the-pros-and-cons-of-gene-editing\/\" target=\"_blank\">done a funny<\/a> on the very same subject.<\/p>\n<p>So I guess the universe was telling me to blog about this.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and if you&#8217;re interested in one-man barbershop quartets, check out the work of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/results?search_query=Julien+Neel\" target=\"_blank\">Julien Neel, aka Trudbol<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><em>*That&#8217;s a lie. Lovecraft-based Christmas carols<\/a>. Damn, I wish YouTube weren&#8217;t owned by Evil Google.
