Whose former CEO actually testified this week that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/10\/03\/business\/equifax-congress-data-breach.html\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;mistakes were made.&#8221;<\/a> Yes. He actually said that. I thought that had just become a bitter joke.\n<li>And when it comes to collecting and exposing your data, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/first-equifax-now-government-cfpb-putting-your-data-at-risk\/article\/2636153\" target=\"_blank\">the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau<\/a> is not far behind. (Was anybody here naive enough to believe the CFPB was ever intended to &#8220;protect consumers&#8221;?)\n<li>Did a drop in &#8220;pro-active policing&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/thefreethoughtproject.com\/crime-rates-decline-police-go-away\/\" target=\"_blank\">reduce crime rates<\/a>?\n<li>Well, that was good timing. Two days after I bemoaned lack of critical thinking, <em>Scientific American<\/em> and writer Heather Butler <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/why-do-smart-people-do-foolish-things\/\" target=\"_blank\">call for greater emphasis<\/a> on that very thing.\n<li>Yes, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2017-10-03\/white-house-and-equifax-agree-social-security-numbers-should-go\" target=\"_blank\">SSN should go<\/a>. It&#8217;s what you want to replace it with that&#8217;s the problem.\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2017\/09\/23\/indiana-student-trapped-in-cave\/\" target=\"_blank\">Left behind<\/a>.
