This YUGE stuffed sheepdog. Beastie was about five feet long and so well made that it even had big button eyes <em>and<\/em> substantial, well-sewn eyelids despite the fact that, being a true sheepdog, nobody ever saw them.<\/p>\n<p>Every morning when I&#8217;d put it back on my bed, I&#8217;d make sure it was seated comfortably. It always seemed happy.<\/p>\n<p>But since finishing the bedroom a week ago, I&#8217;ve been on a crusade to bring order to the entire house after nine months of construction and chaos. I&#8217;ve already hauled off several Kia-loads of donations, as well as tossed several trashcans full of the useless. <\/p>\n<p>Time to re-home my doggie; it had become clutter.<\/p>\n<p>With sadness, I donated the pup to the thrift store last week. It sold that very day. I hope somebody loves their new sheepdog.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve actually had two of those giant sheepdogs over the years, both $5 garage-sale purchases. The first I had to give away when I moved to the Desert Hermitage. As soon as I came back, I found its twin. It was obviously meant to be. It&#8217;s a disc containing nearly every article I wrote up to the point it was made (2003). It&#8217;s got pieces from <em>Sierra Times<\/em>, <em>WorldNetDaily<\/em>, Loompanics, and <em>Backwoods Home<\/em> (including articles BHM never put online).<\/p>\n<p>I owe some devoted person a big thank you and an apology; I can&#8217;t remember who made that disc or why. If it was you, please speak up!<\/p>\n<p>Although some of the articles are terribly dated &#8212; the newest of them is 15 years old, after all &#8212; there are a few &#8220;classics&#8221; in there that I might pull out and post somewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Never know what you might find when you get serious about bringing order out of chaos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was one of my favorite things.
