A school resource officer is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heraldtribune.com\/news\/20180828\/manatee-county-school-guardian-reassigned-over-questionable-facebook-posts\" target=\"_blank\">discovered to be an Oath Keeper<\/a> and a threeper.\n<li>The gone-awry GoFundMe I linked about the other day <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2018\/08\/31\/couple-who-raised-400k-for-homeless-hero-ordered-to-hand-over-remaining-funds\/\" target=\"_blank\">is now in the hands of a judge<\/a>.\n<li>NPR does a well-researched piece showing there are nowhere near as many school shootings as previously reported. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefreethoughtproject.com\/facebook-flags-npr-report-schools\/\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook censors a repost of it<\/a>.\n<li>Since we&#8217;re revisiting earlier issues, it appears that Twitter&#8217;s policies against threatening or even wishing someone dead also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2018\/08\/31\/meghan-mccain-threatening-tweet-ben-domenech-jack-dorsey\/1155234002\/\" target=\"_blank\">don&#8217;t apply to Meghan McCain<\/a>. Very selective, those Twitterpates.\n<li>His $109k bill for a heart attack <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/health-shots\/2018\/08\/31\/643342598\/his-109k-heart-attack-bill-is-now-down-to-332-after-npr-told-his-story\" target=\"_blank\">was reduced to under $400<\/a> after NPR told his story. But what happens to the rest of us under this stupid system?\n<li>I don&#8217;t believe this <a href=\"https:\/\/spectrum.ieee.org\/the-human-os\/biomedical\/devices\/starkeys-ai-transforms-hearing-aid-into-smart-wearables\" target=\"_blank\">newly announced AI-driven hearing aid<\/a> can deliver on its promises. Nice try, though &#8212; except for its (OMG) &#8220;mental health&#8221; monitoring and scoring, which is apparently based on whether you&#8217;re extroverted enough to suit its makers.\n<li>Former <em>ER<\/em> actress <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2018\/tv\/news\/vanessa-marquez-er-shot-killed-police-1202923337\/\" target=\"_blank\">shot dead by police<\/a>. Apparently she &#8220;caused&#8221; them to do it (by pointing a BB gun at them), even though they&#8217;d found her having seizures, then talked with her for 90 minutes.
