There&#8217;s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/in-loving-memory-of-jemel\" target=\"_blank\">GoFundMe<\/a> for the young victim, a churchgoer and father of an infant.\n<li>Was <a href=\"https:\/\/newrepublic.com\/article\/152190\/amazon-scammed-americas-hurting-cities\" target=\"_blank\">Amazon&#8217;s long search for a second HQ<\/a> a total scam? (Is anybody the teeniest bit surprised that they ended up choosing to locate in the nation&#8217;s capitals of money and political power after running the tax-paid bids into large numbers of zeros?)\n<li>Did you know <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ahrq.gov\/professionals\/clinicians-providers\/guidelines-recommendations\/uspstf\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Congress created something<\/a> called the United States Preventive Services Taskforce (that tries very hard to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uspreventiveservicestaskforce.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">pretend it&#8217;s not a government tool<\/a>)? Well, it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2018\/11\/13\/health\/alcohol-use-screening-guidelines-uspstf-study\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">wants each and every one of us to be screened for alcohol abuse<\/a> when we visit our doctors. I guess if our government already considers us all criminals, we might as well be considered drug addicts, too. OTOH, treating us as actual <em>free and responsible adults<\/em> would be nice for a change.\n<li>Two on the #MeToo front: A young man expelled from college four days before graduation on a demonstrably flimsy accusation <a href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/blog\/2018\/11\/12\/chicago-sexual-students-expelled-title\" target=\"_blank\">sues both the school and the young woman<\/a>; and Michael Werecat Dean <a href=\"https:\/\/biptunia.com\/?p=3649\" target=\"_blank\">defends Stephen Elliot<\/a>, one of the men who ended up on Moira Donegan&#8217;s infamous list of anonymous accusations. Elliot is suing, too.\n<li>MWD is also creating a musical <a href=\"https:\/\/biptunia.com\/?p=2980\" target=\"_blank\">benefit for Ross Ulbricht&#8217;s mother<\/a>, who has suffered financial and emotional hardship from her son&#8217;s egregious prosecution and prison sentence.
