But only because the FCC said no; not because they realized it was a bad idea or anything.\n<li>IF this two-year-old article is accurate, Cubans, for all their poverty and oppression, <a href=\"https:\/\/getpocket.com\/explore\/item\/how-cubans-live-as-long-as-americans-at-a-tenth-of-the-cost\" target=\"_blank\">live as long as USA-ans<\/a>. They pay less in money, but more in tyranny, for their health care. (<em>The Atlantic<\/em> fails to mention that one of the Cuban cost savings comes from paying their doctors less than spit.) (H\/T Shel)\n<li>A young woman of working class background <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bustle.com\/p\/ive-paid-18000-to-a-24000-student-loan-i-still-owe-24000-9000788\" target=\"_blank\">describes her personal hell<\/a> of student loans and compound interest from trying to &#8220;get ahead&#8221; via private colleges. She realizes she dug this rut herself and she&#8217;s determined to work her way out. So good for her. But I still have a sense of deep not-getting-itness.\n<li>Eric Peters on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericpetersautos.com\/2018\/12\/17\/the-inscrutable-god\/\" target=\"_blank\">inscrutable god Goo-Guhl<\/a> and his rule over the Internet.\n<li>They&#8217;re tiny. They&#8217;re adorable. They have no electric service, toilet, or shower. They&#8217;re crammed cheek-by-jowl with other one-room cabins. They&#8217;re <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-6503555\/Pair-single-room-wooden-beach-huts-sale-500-000-thanks-exclusive-Dorset-location.html\" target=\"_blank\">going for well over $300k apiece<\/a>. (And no, they&#8217;re not in San Francisco, Manhattan, or Seattle.)\n<li>Hahaha. For you SuperGrinches out there, here&#8217;s a jolly gingerbread house <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boredpanda.com\/gingerbread-house-the-shining-movie-hotel-aaron-keeling\/\" target=\"_blank\">straight out of <em>The Shining<\/em><\/a>. Incredible detail!\n<li>And some neighbor who imagines he or she is a defender of The Real Purpose of Christmas, shows Grinchy spirit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boredpanda.com\/neighbor-letter-remove-dragon-display-diana-rowland\/\" target=\"_blank\">with a snotty anonymous note<\/a> over someone else&#8217;s decorations. Said decorator responds hilariously.\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here.
