Only they want hundreds of thousands of innocent gun buyers <em>reported to the cops<\/em> for fitting a &#8220;profile&#8221; the NYT doesn&#8217;t approve of.\n<li>Aww, isn&#8217;t that sweeeeeeet? The TSA is switching to floppy-eared dogs because the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/39640\/tsa-will-no-longer-use-pointy-eared-dogs-airport-ashe-schow\" target=\"_blank\">pointy-eared ones scare children<\/a>. No word on whether those airport blue-hands realize the kiddies are probably even more terrorized by having their pubes pawed.\n<li>Add one more aspect of shadiness to the dirty business of buying pet-shop dogs: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/business\/they-thought-they-were-buying-a-family-dog-turns-out-they-were-leasing-it-20181224\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dog leasing<\/a> to the unwary. (Nitpick: It&#8217;s not animal-<em>rights<\/em> organizations protesting this; it&#8217;s animal <em>welfare<\/em> organizations. So-called animal-rights outfits like PETA don&#8217;t give a cr*p about the well-being of pets or their humans.) (H\/T JB)\n<li>Don&#8217;t &#8220;help&#8221; us, says the owner of NYC&#8217;s historic Strand bookstore. Just <a href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/blog\/2018\/12\/04\/strand-bookstore-owner-says-nycs-efforts\" target=\"_blank\">leave us alone<\/a> so we can stay in business.\n<li>The incomparable Walter Williams <a href=\"https:\/\/www.creators.com\/read\/walter-williams\/12\/18\/disparities-galore\" target=\"_blank\">talks about some of the disparities<\/a> &#8212; racial, sexual, and cultural &#8212; that the social-justice pecksniffs would rather we not think about.\n<li>Once upon a time Harvard didn&#8217;t want David &#8220;Publicity&#8221; Hogg because (among other reasons, no doubt) his SAT scores were way below their bottom-of-the-bottom percentile. Now that he&#8217;s a famous anti-gun demogogue, <a href=\"https:\/\/nalert.blogspot.com\/2018\/12\/david-hogg-is-heading-to-harvard.html\" target=\"_blank\">they say, &#8220;Welcome, Davy baby.&#8221;<\/a>\n<li>One Tesla. One day. <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Technology\/tesla-opens-investigation-car-burst-flames-times\/story?id=59930420\" target=\"_blank\">Three fires<\/a>.\n<li>Okey doky then. A French teen converted the bible and the quran into DNA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livescience.com\/64388-boy-encoded-and-injected-dna-bible-quran.html\" target=\"_blank\">and injected it into his bloodstream<\/a>.\n<li>This group of millennials is right. They&#8217;re under no obligation to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boredpanda.com\/millennials-pet-food-brands-headline\/\" target=\"_blank\">buy substandard pet food<\/a> just to keep some old conglomerates profitable. (And it&#8217;s not just millennials buying better quality food, either.)\n<li>Fifteen years ago, a stranger helped a five-year-old fly to the U.S. Now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/entry\/maya-hughes-tom-perriello-kindness-of-strangers-viral-twitter-thread_us_5c164e02e4b049efa753279e\" target=\"_blank\">they&#8217;ve found each other<\/a> through one of those six-degrees-of-separation happenstances.\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oh great.
