{"id":41593,"date":"2019-07-02T11:00:25","date_gmt":"2019-07-02T18:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.clairewolfe.com\/blog\/?p=41593"},"modified":"2019-07-02T11:19:18","modified_gmt":"2019-07-02T18:19:18","slug":"tuesday-links-139","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.clairewolfe.com\/blog\/2019\/07\/02\/tuesday-links-139\/","title":{"rendered":"Tuesday links"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>I&#8217;m a few days late with the news, but Justin Raimondo has died &#8212; and that&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/original.antiwar.com\/Antiwar_Staff\/2019\/06\/27\/justin-raimondo-rip-1951-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\">one heck of an obituary<\/a> for one heck of an activist life.\n<li>Today&#8217;s most unsurprising news: <a href=\"https:\/\/wheelgun.wordpress.com\/2019\/06\/29\/nypd-cops-lie-plant-evidence-to-meet-quotas\/\" target=\"_blank\">NYPD joins the ranks<\/a> of police outfits planting evidence to meet arrest quotas.\n<li>Humboldt County, California, issues peremptory fines <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2019\/06\/23\/humboldt-county-threatened-cannabis-fines-they-were-growing-peaches-and-tomatoes\/\" target=\"_blank\">to people who <em>might<\/em> be growing pot<\/a> &#8212; even if they&#8217;re actually growing peaches or tomatoes.\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/ideas\/archive\/2019\/06\/boomers-are-blame-aging-america\/592336\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;The Boomers Ruined Everything.&#8221;<\/a> The title is inflammatory. The article has a point &#8212; and a damned good one &#8212; but most of the problems it cites preceded us boomers. Our generation only made matters worse.\n<li>Another cop <a href=\"https:\/\/thefreethoughtproject.com\/greenhouse-released-murder-mardis\/\" target=\"_blank\">quietly gets away with murder<\/a> &#8212; of a six-year-old child, yet.\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theyeshivaworld.com\/news\/general\/1747800\/google-calls-ben-shapiro-a-nazi.html\" target=\"_blank\">Conservative = Nazi<\/a>. And this is the &#8220;thinking&#8221; that the <a href=\"https:\/\/spectator.org\/the-google-fascists\/\" target=\"_blank\">Google fascists<\/a> plan to build their algorithms on.\n<li>Happy Independence Day. But you can&#8217;t wear Betsy Ross flag sneakers cause Colin Kaepernick <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/nike-pulls-fourth-of-july-celebration-sneaker-after-kaepernick-says-it-is-offensive-report_2986445.html\" target=\"_blank\">sez they&#8217;re offensive<\/a> &#8212; and Nike rushed to pull them from the market. (Funny, though. I remember when <em>conservatives<\/em> considered all flag apparel to be offensive.)\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/privacy-browsers-duckduckgo-ghostery-brave\/\" target=\"_blank\">Privacy browsers<\/a>. Mostly for mobile. But it&#8217;s good news that DuckDuckGo now has a browser of its own.\n<li>The nationwide transportation of southern rescue dogs that began after Hurricane Katrina has been a mixed blessing. It&#8217;s brought deadly heartworm to areas that formerly didn&#8217;t have it. Still &#8230; it&#8217;s also <a href=\"https:\/\/downeast.com\/rescue-dogs-in-maine\/\" target=\"_blank\">brought heart<em>warming<\/em><\/a>, and some very good dogs.
