But at least it&#8217;s an encouraging sign that <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/tech-policy\/2019\/08\/states-reportedly-plan-monopoly-investigation-of-google-facebook-amazon\/\" target=\"_blank\">the most evil tech giants<\/a> are finally facing scrutiny.\n<li>The WaPo op-ed, with its implication that the government should manage every life from cradle to increasingly early grave and that individuals don&#8217;t matter, is creepy. But its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/outlook\/2019\/08\/19\/why-universal-health-care-isnt-enough\/\" target=\"_blank\">history of how American medical care came to be standardized<\/a> in the twentieth century is accurate and interesting.\n<li>Don&#8217;t just &#8220;do something&#8221; about guns. Judge Napolitano <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2019\/aug\/14\/dangerous-urge-do-something\/\" target=\"_blank\">gives a historical perspective<\/a>.\n<li>O Canada &#8212; where you need <a href=\"http:\/\/www.captainsjournal.com\/2019\/08\/14\/fists-and-pocket-knives-against-wolves-and-bears\/\" target=\"_blank\">fists, knives, and rocks<\/a> to fight off deadly woodland predators.\n<li>In case you haven&#8217;t noticed, the price of gold is soaring and some <a href=\"https:\/\/schiffgold.com\/videos\/mobius-buy-gold-at-any-level\/\" target=\"_blank\">think it&#8217;s still got a long, long way to go<\/a> as the next financial crisis hurtles toward us.\n<li>Amazon swiftly whacks peasants (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.clairewolfe.com\/blog\/2019\/08\/16\/i-think-my-favorite-part-is-warmest-regards\/#comment-69738\" target=\"_blank\">like me!<\/a>) who break its most arcane rules.
