Well, what did you think of the now-ended impeachment hearings? Were they …<\/p>\n

\nDull as ditchwater?
\nShamelessly partisan?
\nA waste of space in the universe?
\nAs gripping as Watergate at its best?
\nTotally righteous?
\nTotally self-righteous?
\nCompletely missing any impeachable offenses? (Except perhaps on the part of Joe Biden, who can’t be impeached because he’s not in office.)
\nThe silliest bunch of cooked-up factoids you ever did hear?
\nBrilliant? Pure democracy in action?
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Or did you think of them at all?<\/p>\n

It was lovely to pay very little attention, although I did wonder if NPR was going to be “all impeachment, all the time, forever and ever.” I did more than the usual amount of switching the car radio on, then off again 10 seconds later.<\/p>\n

I went looking for two sets of old columns of mine, only to discover that a certain magazine had 86ed them. Or rather, 404ed them, this being the Internet. But in any case, they’re gone down the memory hole. So is a lot of other material, but right now I’m hoping to resurrect two series in particular:<\/p>\n
