It’s a scan of a physical book that (so someone told me) even has coffee stains scanned in. But there it is.

I’m not thrilled when anybody pirates my work. I’m especially un-thrilled when a rich outfit like Archive.org scans an entire book without even trying to get permission of the writer who conceived and gave painful birth to it. But that’s the Internet. Anyhow, 101 Things is old and mostly obsolete. I’m not asking for it to be taken down. If you want a copy and don’t have one, there it is.

Oh, and scroll farther down that same page. There’s a treasure trove — literally hundreds — of Paladin Press and similar Outlaw books there for the taking. What their authors think about that, I don’t know. But in this age of banned books, you might find something useful.

Rats! The no-snitch book — ALWAYS free

I was barely recovered from that little journey down Memory Lane when someone invited me to take another. A nice fellow write to ask if any of my old books were available for a small-press publisher he was working with.

Well, mostly no. But in looking back at old titles, I was reminded of another freebie y’all might like. Rats!, the no-snitch book was a collaboration between me and the Living Freedom blog Commentariat. And you know, if I do say so myself, it’s good.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://www.clairewolfe.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/rats-cover-300x4001-e1614542473724.jpg" alt="Rats! Enjoy.

Good old articles — also free, of course

I told the nice fellow from the publisher I didn’t have anything exclusive for him (though he’s now posted a pdf copy of Rats!), but thanked him for asking, rather than just pirating.

Well … um, er, he explained.

But he just as quickly (and kindly) offered either to take down or pay for two articles he’d picked up out of the old Loompanics quarterly catalog.

Although the word “pay” is music to a writer’s ears, I told him he was just fine, no problem, let ’em be. Then I went off to have a look at them, myself.

Pirated from Nick Bougas

One was “Dark Satanic Cubicles”, ca. 2005. An old favorite. That was the piece that eventually led to me writing the book, How to Kill the Job Culture Before It Kills You.

Still a favorite after all these years. The examples are dated, but it won’t take but a minute to see how the piece is still true and the problem has gotten orders of magnitude worse in 15 years.

Again, there are other articles by other writers and you might enjoy those, too.

—–

BTW, the publisher the charming fellow is working with is Dojo Press. It began life as a martial arts publisher and is now branching out. I’ve given their blog a place in my new blogroll. But in addition to that, I’ve also signed on to the affiliate program for their nicely comprehensive liberty goods store.

If you enter Libertas Bella through this link and purchase anything, they promise they’ll pay a higher rate than Amazon ever did — and they won’t arbitrarily kick me out of their program and keep the money. Well, not unless I say bad things about them.

At the Libertas Bella store (using this link this link this link) you can buy freedom-themed clothing for men or women. Clothing and other stuff featuring Ludwig von Mises, Milton Friedman, Murray Rothbard, guns, or the works of George Orwell. Or a quote from Hunter S. Thompson. Or images of guns. Lots of guns. There’s a Second Amendment collection, a 1984 collection, and an official Libertas Bella collection. Mugs, stickers, wall hangings, phone cases, and more. Reasonable prices, too.

If your dog happens to share your political proclivities, why not buy a liberty-themed dog bed? (Yeah, that’s an affiliate link, too.)

In my experience, Amazon’s affiliate program was the only one that ever worked. I’ll be pleased if you readers prove me wrong.
