{"id":7346,"date":"2011-09-27T09:17:48","date_gmt":"2011-09-27T16:17:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/ClaireWolfe\/?p=7346"},"modified":"2011-09-27T09:17:48","modified_gmt":"2011-09-27T16:17:48","slug":"tuesday-miscellany-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.clairewolfe.com\/blog\/2011\/09\/27\/tuesday-miscellany-13\/","title":{"rendered":"Tuesday miscellany"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>They probably hope to save themselves by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.winonadailynews.com\/news\/national\/article_b8493d81-841d-549b-a260-39b14f841f7e.html\" target=\"_blank\">selling a billion Justin Bieber stamps<\/a>.\n<li>Compromise. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/robertwood\/2011\/09\/24\/amazon-tax-good-bad-and-ugly\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ptooey!<\/a>\n<li>Y&#8217;know, in a free country <a href=\"http:\/\/openchannel.msnbc.msn.com\/_news\/2011\/08\/30\/7526748-us-aims-to-track-untraceable-prepaid-cash-cards\" target=\"_blank\">they&#8217;d be in favor of privacy<\/a>.\n<li>I agree <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/kashmirhill\/2011\/09\/26\/gms-boneheaded-privacy-mistake-with-onstar\/\" target=\"_blank\">this is boneheaded.<\/a> But this is another misuse of the word &#8220;mistake.&#8221; It&#8217;s not like GM did it by accident or anything.\n<li>I was a little premature when <a href=\"http:\/\/cei.org\/op-eds-articles\/e-verify-e-viscerates-labor-market\" target=\"_blank\">I railed against this<\/a> 14 years ago when the pilot project was just getting underway. (This is &#8220;freedom&#8221; as brought to you by &#8220;conservatives.&#8221; With the help of &#8220;liberals.&#8221;)\n<li>I don&#8217;t care if they do <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/money\/industries\/retail\/story\/2011-08-28\/Manufacturers-try-designer-diapers-to-boost-sales\/50165302\/1\" target=\"_blank\">make them in camo.<\/a> It&#8217;s a dumb idea. Probably make lots of money, though.\n<li>I&#8217;m surprised the U.S. government hasn&#8217;t <a href=\"http:\/\/lewrockwell.com\/slavo\/slavo59.1.html\" target=\"_blank\">already done something like this<\/a>.\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/heartofthematteronline.com\/my-homeschool-story\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;My Homeschool Story.&#8221;<\/a> Even a little (and not necessarily good) homeschooling can go a long way. Her pre-schooling is similar to what I got from my mother. In those days, nobody would have dreamed of homeschooling. But everything I&#8217;ve ever done with words or art is thanks to my mother&#8217;s hours with me when I was little.\n<\/ul>\n<p>I prepped this blog entry last night &#038; ended it with a terrific dog photo. Then <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theagitator.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Radley Balko<\/a>, that scoundrel, <a href=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/jYHzL.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">got to it first<\/a>.
