No, nothing <i>I<\/i> did. Just giving support to a friend whose ne&#8217;er-do-well son is in trouble again. <\/p>\n<p>Going through my fanny pack to make sure I&#8217;m courthouse-ready. You know, it&#8217;s amazing the amount of stuff folks carry every day that some other folks might consider a weapon. I&#8217;ll probably just stash the fanny pack and put keys, cash, and ID in a pocket lest some letter opener or multitool freak out the <i>paranoiati<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve got two multi-tabbed browsers full of links I&#8217;ve been saving for you. But between <a href=\"http:\/\/theeconomiccollapseblog.com\/archives\/have-you-heard-about-the-16-trillion-dollar-bailout-the-federal-reserve-handed-to-the-too-big-to-fail-banks\" target=\"_blank\">revelations of Fed shenanigans<\/a> (and the MSM&#8217;s huge &#8220;ho hum&#8221; about them), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thelibertypapers.org\/2011\/12\/01\/the-late-david-nolan%E2%80%99s-indefinite-detention-of-u-s-citizens-fears-one-step-closer-to-being-realized\/\" target=\"_blank\">the latest &#8220;advance&#8221;<\/a> of the police state, and <a href=\"http:\/\/mobile.informationweek.com\/80269\/show\/71456cd85c61f81b273885ce4b46b207&#038;t=f5ci2095n1600c5rdd6n6pn1p3\" target=\"_blank\">the unsurprising news about Carrier IQ<\/a> it all just seems too depressing to wallow in. <\/p>\n<p>Even the articles or opinion pieces that add good insights, like <a href=\"http:\/\/dollarcollapse.com\/the-economy\/fooled-again\/\" target=\"_blank\">this one<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theregister.co.uk\/2011\/12\/01\/julian_assange_surveillance\/\" target=\"_blank\">this one<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.strike-the-root.com\/iconography-of-evil\" target=\"_blank\">this one<\/a> would make you want to stick your head in the sand if you thought about them for more than a minute.<\/p>\n<p>When you hear absurd talk of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/8301-205_162-57335245\/wikileaks-disclosure-shines-light-on-big-brother\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;legal oversight and reform,&#8221;<\/a> you really wonder if even some very well-informed people suffer from a serious Failure to Grasp Reality.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/italy-banning-cash-transactions-above-1000-euros-2011-12\" target=\"_blank\">getting scary<\/a> everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Still, good people go on doing good things and coping with hard times in creative ways. Have you ever, for instance, heard of a <i>gemach<\/i>? That&#8217;s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/12\/03\/us\/a-traditional-jewish-loan-program-helps-ease-pain-of-tough-economic-times.html?_r=2\" target=\"_blank\">very noble thing<\/a>, it seems.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>The good guys <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/blogs\/joshgerstein\/1211\/Wikileaks_suspect_wants_Barack_Obama_Hillary_Clinton_as_witnesses.html\" target=\"_blank\">strike back<\/a> (with a gratifying bit of chutzpah, to boot).<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>And governments the world over still <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thelocal.se\/37678\/20111201\/\" target=\"_blank\">give much cause for laughter<\/a>.
