Not <a href=\"http:\/\/snopes.com\/glurge\/glurge.asp\" target=\"_blank\">glurge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But in the biblical flood of bad news, good news does occasionally bob to the surface and I&#8217;ve been saving up bits of it to brighten your day. So here goes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rhode Island <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wnd.com\/2012\/01\/single-state-defies-obama-detention-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\">may defy the NDAA<\/a>. (Tip o&#8217; hat to JS.)\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/jimpowell\/2012\/01\/16\/the-most-important-secret-of-a-prosperous-economy\/\" target=\"_blank\">The most important secret<\/a> of a prosperous economy.\n<li>Remember the homeless man with the golden voice? Well, <a href=\"http:\/\/newsfeed.time.com\/2012\/01\/13\/whatever-happened-to-ted-williams-the-golden-voiced-homeless-man\/\" target=\"_blank\">so far, so good<\/a>. (HT to SC)\n<li>Obama (not intentionally, of course) might <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052970204409004577158903842171724.html\" target=\"_blank\">bring back the Constitution<\/a>.\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052970204257504577149913689465528.html?mod=googlenews_wsj\" target=\"_blank\">Gaston Glock<\/a> did an amazing thing.\n<li>Speaking of homeless-but-talented, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/45987883\/ns\/technology_and_science-science\/\" target=\"_blank\">a homeless whiz kid<\/a> is a semi-finalist in a national science competition, and the attention is helping her family.\n<li>TSA may &#8212; <i>may<\/i> &#8212; apologize to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/new-york\/tsa-apologizes-elderly-women-strip-search-kennedy-airport-article-1.1007725\" target=\"_blank\">some old ladies<\/a> it abused. (Okay, I grant you it&#8217;s not much; but it&#8217;s something.)\n<li>There was once a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/blogs\/krulwich\/2012\/01\/18\/145402318\/the-pirate-botanist-returns\" target=\"_blank\">great pirate botanist<\/a>.
