8:00 this morning. A polite “knock” on our hotel room door. Okay, more like a polite scratch, repeated when we failed to respond.
When we opened the door, in strolled one of our new friends:
We’ve met this girl previously in the hotel lobby, where she and her much older companion, a lab, reign in pampered splendor. Rotties seem to be the most popular local breed.
We offered doggie delicacies. Like nearly all the pets in these parts, she was deeply suspicious of cheese. She finally took a slice, but spat it back out. (My dogs back home would be horrified at such heresy!) However, also like most pets we’ve met here, she eagerly accepted small bits of bread and was willing to do plenty of sits and shakes to get it.
Spoke English, too. Or at least understood it. Smart dog.
BTW, take a close look at the red scarf. Hard to tell in the photo, but it has a motif of cannabis leaves.
I sure do miss my own pups. It was great to have a morning “dog fix.”

A dog that won’t eat cheese? If it wasn’t YOU saying that, I’d have a hard time believing it. My dogs have always eaten cheese – when they could get it, which is seldom. Too expensive. The old doxie/beagle I have now will gladly eat anything, including cardboard, kleenex and q-tips. He’d kill for cheese! LOL
It is great to have you posting again. It is hard to believe that a dog won’t eat cheese. That picture looks like you took in in my kitchen with my rotty mix waiting for his cut. We added a new one to our pack a couple of weeks ago. We didn’t have enough chaos in the house after Noel died. I hope all is well. Enjoy your trip!
