Your tax dollars at work

I’m off to see Atlas Shrugged, Part I today! Turns out the nearest theater showing it isn’t quite as far as I first thought. Still, it’s In Civilization several hours from here, so the trek will keep me gone all day. Hope a bunch more of you are able to catch the film today or this weekend. Hope it’s as good as the trailer.

In the meantime, on this day that Would Be Tax Day (but isn’t this year because Our Public Servants in DC are taking the day off, exhausted from their Ceaseless Labors Behalf of the Little People), you might appreciate seeing your tax dollars at work.

Got my ticket already. Hope they did a good job too. The trailers I have seen look good, but it will probably depend on what they put in and what they left out that will determine how good the movie really is.

I can’t wait to hear your review. Reason Magazine wasn’t very impressed.

Taking the family tonight. Bought the tickets last night. Not inviting my friends until I am assured it is good. If it sucks, I’ll never hear the end of it.

Glad to hear it! I’m going tonight. Lets hope that buying tickets online actually works…

LibertyNews … yeah. I also bought online & now fear making the long drive only to be told, “Tickets? You didn’t buy any tickets!”

Woody, from all I’ve heard, I won’t be surprised if my response is similar to Kurt Loder’s. Still … the trailer looked hopeful and that one scene in Rearder’s house might not have been great, but definitely wasn’t bad either. Now … off on the adventure …

Funny, I read the book recently and I have to be honest if the books was half as exciting as the trailer, I might have enjoyed it, but I never saw or felt any of that energy in the book.

In keeping with the spirit of this blog ~

Claire can now write off this whole little trip into civilization to see THIS MOVIE – – the tickets, the gas, the misc expenses….it’s all “for the job” ;)……

And a few more dollars kept outta their inept, creepy little fingers….

    😀

“A Junto Song”: I found this song/poem today on Diana Gabaldon’s blogsite, and thought many of you might be interested. (Gabaldon is the author of the _Outlander_ series of books, seven in all to date. Scroll down to the second entry, The Ides of April. The Comments give some extra info as well re: Ides.
