If you scroll down and look to the right just below the archives, you’ll see a “real” blogroll. Until now, there’s been only a redundant set of links to other BHM blogs that Oliver put in that spot.
My blogroll isn’t strictly a blogroll because not everything on it is a blog. What I’m aiming to do over time is list the top two to 10 sites, blog or otherwise, in some of the most important liberty categories. This is just a beginning. While a blogroll is no big deal, I know (like a certain something else, everybody has one), this one is connected with some re-thinking I’ve been doing about the nature of this blog.
More on that soon …
Thanks, Claire!
May I suggest Bruce Schneier http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2005/03/destroying_the_1.html be added to the blogroll — either under Privacy vs Snoopery, The Rest of the Blogroll, or a separate section on how to keep our electronics clean?
Good one, Pat! Bruce Schneier. Yep. How could I have neglected him?
Must be the urge to do spring cleaning or something! I had neglected my “blogroll” at PoL for a long time and just dusted it off to reorganize and add things. I’m going to snitch some of yours! ๐
MamaLiberty — I’ll have to drop by soon and see (and add you to the blogroll!). Snitch away. I’m in the process of doing some “blog mining” myself.
I wish I was as disciplined at writing mine as I am about reading everyone elses’ LOL…..
Thank you for categorizing it. I hate the ones where it’s like seven feet of links and I have no idea what any of them are.
Joel — You’re welcome. And it’s not just tit-for-tat. You’re now involved in two really good blogs. I sure hope you guys have the energy to keep The Independent Spirit going strong.
winston — Yeah. Same here. And since sometime even really interesting bloggers will add dreck to their blogroll just to please family or friends or as part of link exchanges, you can follow those links and wonder why the hell …? I’ll happily do some courtesy swaps in the “Rest of” category — though I must say that my friends do pretty darned good blogging and I won’t add anything that would bore readers of this blog. But I’m aiming to keep the categorized links limited to the very best few in their fields.
Off-topic:
There is now a non-marriage majority if the article is to be believed.

I wonder if we’re heading for a paradigm shift as far as marriage goes?
Thanks, Claire! I do need to revisit that page and see if I can organize/categorize it better. If it gets too large, I may have to see if I can manage it as a database or something.
There is another page called “Friends of Liberty” as well, and I’ve not looked at it for at least a year. Might be good to merge them, though they are not all “blogs,” of course.
People used to send me suggestions for those pages, but I’ve not gotten one in a long time and lost track of them. More housecleaning in the pipeline for PoL, for sure. ๐
