Silver on debt ceiling and default

I haven’t considered this topic much worth writing about. All the “will they raise the debt ceiling or will the Apocalypse strike” nonsense of the last few weeks has just been political theater, signifying nothing.

But Silver, who’s always good at casting light into the dark cracks of governmental chicanery nails it again.

I was stopped from going to the mentalmilitia.com web site because of a problem with their web site security certificate. The pop up said it wasn’t issued by a recognized authority.

Wow. Someone reading Claire Wolfe’s blog, which questions government and authority, stops going to a website she occasionally frequents because some unknown authority doesn’t recognize it.

    How delicious.

Those mismatched or unknown authority certificates sometimes give me pause. If I’m not highly motivated to read what’s on the site in question, I’ll bail just because it isn’t worth the hassle of checking for myself. But I can vouch for The Mental Militia. In fact every time I’ve ever taken the time to look into a certificate mismatch or “not from a recognized authority” message, indeed the site and the certificate, have turned out to be quite innocent.

Hey, I don’t have any certification from any “recognized authority,” either. 🙂

Anyhow, I’d go past just about any warning message to read something Silver had to say about gold, silver, business, or finance.

The certificate mismatch can often be due to a difference in how the url was entered, i.e.: with the / at the end or without, with the www at the beginning, with the http:// at the beginning, etc. Always good to double-check, though.

As I understand it, this particular “certificate” would cost TMM quite a bit of money, and guarantees absolutely nothing. I get the same “warning” myself sometimes. I’m a senior member and administrator at The Mental Militia. It’s all kosher.

Copy the link and remove the “S” from “https”

TMM is a great site. I’ve been posting there for almost 3 years… Never had any problems other than the certificate warning.

Okay I will try it again and disregard the warning.

On TMM I posted this link with some additional commentary about comparing the present “Super Congress” with the Nazis.

I’d also have to say that they’re developing a lead-foot on the accelerator.

If Claire either writes it or recommends it, then READ AND HEED! She had more than proven herself a most dependable source for me for so very many years. Also, as she recommends a screen named writer named “Silver” I do too. That writer KNOWS what he/she is talking about in the money/silver/gold/ news. READ AND HEED Silver also. Fail to do this to your own peril.

Claire, wishing you all the very best of all good things/blessings. You have my e-mail in case you need anything of me.
