Thursday miscellany

Some of the above already appeared on my Twitter feed. Apologies to anybody who got the same news from me twice, but I’m trying to strike a miscellany balance between the blog and Twitter.

And finally: The Three Little Pigs as covered in the modern mainstream and alternative media:

(Speaking of Murphy’s Law, this is weird. On the preview of this post, I see the Three Little Pigs video. But when I post it, on my system at least, it turns into the One Happy Dog video I blogged the other day. I’m working on it, but if you see the wrong video, just go here.)

The Monkees? Seriously? I did not know that.

Wow, and to think I disliked them…

Thanks for posting the Katrina site. I’ve been using that for years, and it still has the best info available on what to do when it goes off the rails. That sight and Selco’s site are all one really needs to get a handle on any situation. They are both about philosophy and the prepping part is easy after you master that. Selco’s got a great PDF out which covers his experiences of being cut off for one year inside a city under siege. It’s a good counter to all the recent BS about “urban survival”. He makes it clear that getting out of Dodge makes the most sense.

Anyone got a deep link on the FBI site for The Monkees content? They promise a .pdf file but all I’m seeing is flash (and I don’t see why I need to allow the feds to run their code on my machine in the first place)

I don’t have the link you’re looking for. But FWIW, the file is only about four pages long and nearly every bit of it is covered with big, black redaction bars. About the only actual content is a claim that, at a Monkees concert, the informant or agent saw “subliminal messages” flashed on the screen, along with left-wing propaganda.

Would love to know why they felt the need to black out nearly the entire report when “investigating” the world’s most innocuous manufactured rock group. Hm. Might be to cover their own embarrassment?
