Another revisit: Twelve Tips for Toppling Tyrants

Well, while we’re having an “oldies and goldies” day, how about a re-visit to “Twelve Tips for Toppling Tyrants”?

It was the Hardyville column that directly followed “Reactive Ralphie” and is an answer to him and others who believe that a constant frenzy will lead us to freedom.

Sadly….. liberty is is about education and memes …. the cow herd must be taught over and over to value freedom… individuals are going to die in the effort to do this…. 12 tips ain’t going to save liberty lovers from watering the tree of liberty….. Reactive Ralphie is correct to the extent that liberty lovers must keep liberty memes in front of the cow herd…. they will say 100 years from now… “of course liberty is the most important thing” & a lot of unknown liberty lovers will have dies to make it so. I wish there was a better way ….. 99guspuppet

Gus… you go right ahead and attempt to educate the cow herd. Keep you out of mischief if nothing else. I have no obligation to educate anyone, especially anyone who is happy being a cow. There are a few others who are eager to know the truth, but most of them don’t live in the herd to begin with. They learn because they want to… not because they are force fed.

As long as we believe in and live for “society”, we will be reacting to society’s–and government’s–demands. But when did we start defining liberty by what a culture says it is?

As a group, “the cow herd must be taught over and over to value freedom”–and it may be true that many societies will never achieve liberty from tyrants. Meanwhile, the Individual CAN achieve liberty by his understanding of what it means, and the degree of effort he puts into reaching it.

Death is inevitable; when and how he dies, is the individual’s choice.
