Greenwald on Granderson

… and what Granderson’s embarrassingly horrible “don’t be nosy” rant says about the state of establishment journalism.

Thanks to real journalist (though he probably wouldn’t call himself that), Jim Bovard for the link to the always-wonderful Glenn Greenwald.

BTW, for those of you who might lose lunch if you have endure Granderson’s spewings again, be aware that Greenwald quotes nearly the whole “Don’t Be Nosy about Fast & Furious” monstrosity.

I hope people aren’t leaving Greenwald alone because he is something of a lefty. The man has principles, an actual morality that is so lacking nowadays. It doesn’t matter if it’s Bush or Obama. He’s quite ready to go over anybody who slaughters innocents and abuses the right of others.

He also makes a very strong point here. Investigative journalism is being outlawed and the MSM seem fine with it. Bye, bye free press.

Ok, up until this link I didn’t know/care who Granderson is but now that I see what he looks like and his race I understand why he is an idiot and buys into Holder/Obama.

I’m going to let your comment stand, BC. But let’s not let this thread degenerate into racism.

Anyhow, read more closely; Granderson’s supporting Bush & Reagan as much as he is Holder or Obama. He seems to be in favor of all Authoritah. I grant you that if this scandal involved the R-party, I suspect Granderson would be all in favor of digging out every last bit of dirt. But as is, he’s coming out in favor of virtually ALL government secrecy, at all times, as long as it’s done for “good” paternalistic reasons.

Word, Steve. Greenwald is the real deal. I keep hoping that Greenwald (or Arthur Silber) might actually take an interest in the content of Gunwalker, rather than just the context of media reaction to it. I’d love to see a thoroughly “impolite” Silber rant about this. 🙂

    Here’s hoping…

Totally agreed on Greenwald. I love that man! He’s the sort of civil liberties voice that used to come frequently from the left (e.g. Nat Hentoff, Robert Scheer), but who rarely shows up in these days when both left and right seem only to be about authoritarian control, faction-fighting, class warfare and other such rot.

For years I worried that once Hentoff was gone there wouldn’t be anybody to take his place. But thank heaven for Greenwald.
