I’m not sufficiently paranoid to believe things like the following. But that may be because I’m not sufficiently paranoid. An anonymous friend (who is not notably paranoid, either) writes:

The news I saw this AM was that the next global warming report by the UN IPCC had been leaked. Leaking blows their favorite tactic out of the water. SOP is to release a heavily politicized “summary” written by politicians and parasites for politicians and parasites. The press and .gov types lap it up. Three months later, the actual report written by sort-of scientists (the kind that suck up to UN agencies) is released. The correlation between the summary and the actual report is rather low.
Now that’s gone. What’s worse for the alarmists, the 2nd draft that was released shows that quite a few scientists know darn well that 1) there has been no global warming for 16 years, and 2) global temperature changes are highly correlated with solar magnetic (aka sunspot) activity. Solar magnetic activity rose from 1920 to 2000, and most research shows that over the eons, it accounted for 60-80% of the observed warming. This is so highly correlated that not using solar magnetic activities in models is fraudulent. Which is precisely what prompted one outraged scientist to leak the 2nd draft.
Now solar magnetic activity has collapsed, the earth is cooling, and warmism will die a well-deserved death. But not before one last round of new carbon taxes, renewable energy scams, and related graft and theft.
Then at lunch I see the news about the shooting. Pushed the flap about the latest, very severe blow to warmism right off the news. Will probably keep it off for quite some time.
Then the thought crossed my mind. No, no one could be that depraved. But it’s been pointed out by people only slightly more paranoid than me that the timing of these rampages is really amazing.
But that thought keeps coming back I’m really around the bend, or maybe I’m afraid to confront what I see.

The school _was_ a victim disarmament zone. As expected — by rational people — this simply provided a safe work place for a killer. Again.
“The killer was [shocked face] a _Goth_.”
Reportedly.* So frickin’ what? Gonna ban dark clothing? (Shit, shouldn’t give ’em more ideas…) Given the media track record, we’ll probably learn he was really a transexual brony from Alpha Centauri or the like. Not that Goths have a higher prevalence towards violence than the genpop; in fact, I’ve seen a study that indicates that _going_ Goth has helped some people who _previously_ had SELF-harm (SELF, not others) issues.
Also reportedly*, the shooter was under mental treatment and on psychiatric meds. He may well have been a “prohibited person”, meaning his actions were ‘even more illegaller’ already. Stealing guns is illegal, muder is illegal, guns in designated helpless-target zones is illegal. What’s the oft-attributed (I’ve seen Einstein, Franklin, Lincoln, and others credited) line about insanity and still doing the same thing?

*Reportedly: Even for the lamestream media, this has been bad. The wrong person was identified as the shooter. Even after the correction, outlets continued to run with the wrong name and _picture_, vilifying a innocent man. The media reported _two_ shooters. The media reported that the shooter’s mother was a teacher at the school, while other say she was a part-time substitute, while others yet, say she had no connection to the school at all. Media reports placed the mother’s killing at the school, while others put it elsewhere. Some media reported that the shooter used a Bushmaster, while others report that the police simply found it in a vehicle later.
So I am not the only one who suspects fedgov foul play regarding that massacre.
Count me in as one who’s growing every suspicious of the number of young men receiving psychiatric are and on some form of Antidepressants. Loved the Burrough’s quote.
Still more n/e/w/s/ unsubstantiated media allegations:
– As of 12/15/12, 1:09PM, Yahoo is still reporting “two shooters” on its main news page.
– Now reports claim _four_ handguns used, other reports still reference two, or sometimes three (if they don’t know, STFU).
– Report claims shooter’s purchase of a rifle was _denied_. Other details suggest it was a CT _waiting period_ rather than denial.
– Reports that the police have a motive for the shooter. But no reports of the supposed motive.
– Rather than dig for facts, “reporters” are dredging up crap about the chool prinicpal having a Twitter account. Why is this “news”?
– Record Holder: Several “news” outlets are reporting this as a record (or sometimes near-record) for school massacres. Various reports have it as the second deadliest ever, the second deadliest since 1950, the second deadliest in 20 years, the tird deadliest in the _world_ (HuffPo included the recent Norway killing of 77 people). None of these alleged reporters seem to be aware of any Chinese school knife attacks, nor the Bath Township, MI bombing that killed 45 people and injured another 58 in 1927. I’m assuming that these other deadly attacks don’t count because the killer didn’t use eee-vil firearms.
-sigh- Wake me up if anyone starts to do some honest investigation and reporting, instead of gossip- and panic-mongering
EN: It doesn’t take a conspiracy to relate attacks and antidepressants. Bear in mind that violent impulses are a known side effect (in roughly 5% of users, if I recall correctly) of Luvox, for instance (google “luvox columbine Marines” for a little fun). Doctors prescribing such meds should be monitoring their patients.
I really don’t see any need for a “conspiracy” of mass murder to divert attention from the leaked IPCC AR draft. The IPCC/UN doesn’t care what people think anyway. They continue to push their socialist agenda no matter what people say, or what the facts are. When they get caught violating their own rules in order to push that agenda, they just retroactively change the rules and say “FU” (that’s regarding a peer-review requirement for AR supporting docs, if anyone wants to look into it).

I’ll confess to just enough paranoia to wonder why, why there, and why now.
If those legislators calling for “a discussion” on the current laws after this tragedy, want to sit down and talk, I think it is a good idea….
Let’s pass a law saying mentally unstable people should not be allowed to buy firearms…. oh, wait we have that.

Well, let’s create a “safe” zone around schools, we will call it a “gun free school zone” and make it illegal to have a gun in these sensitive places…. dang, we have that too?

How about a law making it a felony to use a tragedy like this to push your misguided political agenda? That is a law I would back.

Yep. William Tell — but without the good aim. That would be Burroughs. Matter of fact, I can see using him as a bad example in lots of ways.
Definitely wouldn’t use that quote in an argument with an anti. But still … it’s true as well as pithy.
