Holiday weekend good news roundup, part II, with dogs

My Ava would do this:

Border collies are supposed to be geniuses of the dog world. But they can be so OCD about toss-and-fetch that they lose all touch with reality. In fact, I’d say that “out of touch with reality” is Ava’s permanent state. The pooch above must be one of Ava’s close relatives on her BC side.

“I think we all know intuitively that getting out into nature lifts our mood and enhances creativity.”

Which may explain wy Ayn Rand — a Hollywood screenwriter turned New York author — wanted to pave over every bit of nature.

Had a photo of a cowboy on a horse on the cover… knitting, of course. I still have the booklet somewhere. Never learned to knit, though. Never been much for the Manly Arts…

I’d bet that nature has more benefits for people than just those few things, but I’m a bit biased (screen name is also my nickname irl)…..too bad so many have abandoned it for “inside things”……

Excellent SWAT article, Claire! I especially like the line “And how do you like “gun ownership—a precursor to gun violence”?
    Breathing, a precursor to disease.
    Aging, a precursor to death.
    Everything, a precursor to something.
    etc
