At last, a moral focus and direction – a COUNTER-revolution to serve as the philosophy behind our rhetoric and our actions. This is the purpose of self-defense, and of ‘natural rights’.

“We do not seek a civil war, but one is being thrust upon us. If we do not now stand, then when will we? We must defy these intolerable acts, whatever their source, and challenge the collectivist revolutionaries to come work their will upon us if they do not like it — and they most assuredly won’t. We must give a final rattle of the tail before striking. They may pass whatever “laws” they wish, then watch what happens when they try to enforce them.”

I think the “intolerable acts” are a progressive reaction to the coming crunch — they can’t do anything worthwhile so are taking it out on their cultural enemies — us. As long as the progressive/media/bureaucracy/university mash-up can keep convincing people that we’re the enemy, they can keep themselves in charge, even if the country’s finances and money are in the gutter. I think it probably will get worse (see this post by capitalisteric…)

I also agree with his comment that there’s no much point going ex-pat — when things hit the fan it usually gets taken out on strangers. If you’re going to be under the gun, better to do it with neighbors who speak the same language.

(Reading back over this post, I’m a little embarrassed at how pessimistic I’ve gotten lately….)

    Pessimistic – or sad… Tim?

I find I’m rather sad. The financial info in the blog is substantiated, through other sources. It’s not made up. Real. Yet so many are in complete denial about the reality of the facts — including folks who make their living from understanding finance.

Heard someone who works with the poor on assistance, today – say that this week, he’s talked to many many people who’ve found their benefits are gone; dried up; no more $$$ – with no announcement or warning. He called and verified with the agencies that this is so.

    I hope y’all are ready.
It’s so sad that instead of asking for help from those of us who “know how to do and can make do” and still try to help others… they would rather take our freedoms and consider us “enemies of the state” instead.

“when things hit the fan it usually gets taken out on strangers.”

I sense more stubborness than I do any facts when I see statements such as that.

    How do you know this?

    What are your facts, exactly?

Are there worldwide averages or something, and is this a process which only occurs where the c.i.a. and the like have a powerful influence, Or is it regular like and everywhere? It’s starting to sound like the meth boogieman the cops trot out when they want to whip up a good bit of false justification for their job or to raise money.

Some of the stuff Ferfal had on his blog about collapse,… the People who were trusted, well known and liked with strong ‘community’ ties, was it – often – they ratted out or stole, or whatever,… and not ‘the ususal suspects’ or was it just a little bit? So I wonder.
